While his heart was in the right place, his methods were not. There are better, legal methods to protest this than hacking into a private company's computer network to bring it down. Stand outside the hospital grounds with a sign, start social media information groups, etc.

Exactly. You don't DDoS a hospital. Slow down all the computer systems the staff are using. People could die.
