So wow two years in the league and these guys are already demanding a new contract.
Man, the nfl is just getfing silly now.
Is Trevor going to demand a new contract now if he has a good year this year?
I don’t see Trevor being anything near Murray on a maturity level. Ill always think about that Dan Patrick interview pre draft when I think about Murray. Kyler has a skillset that is undeniable, but nothing he has ever done suggested to me that he is even slightly intelligent.
Also worth noting that even if TL did think about pulling some dumb [BLEEP] like this, he would have a tough time bringing his first year stats to the bargaining table. I am confident we will see a big jump from him this season. But even with that, he will have one good year and one bad, he is better off playing out his rookie contract. Hell by then we may be seeing 500 mil qbs in the league.

The only reason Murray is doing this is because he and his agent know he is one injury away from never seeing that lucrative 2nd contract in the NFL that young players (and their agents) covet.
He's attempting to speed up the clock on it by a year from the typical timeframe to hedge against injury and the negative swing of tens of millions of dollars that would create.
We aren't going to see that desperation from Lawrence.
I would let Murray do whatever he thinks is ultimately in his own best interest. I hinted at this previously in a different thread. Arizona stands to get a new QB in RD1 if they want one out of desperation. Or, they could very well end up offering Cleveland a low set of draft draft picks for Baker Mayfield. Which works for him and Arizona as there's already a bit of familiarity there system wise.
Would be a good opportunity for Arizona to bridge their own gap and personal issues with Murray while getting a fairly serviceable QB with a chip on his shoulder. Murray can go play baseball. As a teammate and fan I would be more concerned about his arrogance and lack of leadership qualities. Not that Mayfield really instills any of that in his own persona. BUT, he does fit a need and he doesn't seem like he's the kind of guy that's going to threaten you with baseball.
If I want to go the cheap way, I draft a qb. Or if I want to be really ornery, I trade for Baker Mayfield. Either way, Murray can hold out and we're going to keep rolling.

I’m gonna trade that injury prone prima donna in a nanosecond for two first round picks, steal Mayfield from the desperate Browns for a mid round pick, and be ready to draft a blue chip QB in 2023 to groom behind Mayfield.

I'm getting the urge for some Doublemint gum after reading those last two posts.

I imagine he was seeking more than a one-year guarantee.
Yeah they were always going to pick up his 5th year. He wants a lot of money and more years and guaranteed money
This now becomes his prove it year

“I wouldn’t trade Minshew for Kyler Murray”
Hahahaha
This ensures 3rd place in the Division for the Cards.
His contract says he has to study film 4 hours a week at home and they will some how track it to make sure he is actually watching it and not paying someone to click for him or just playing video games while it plays.
They knew he didn't study but still paid him all that money? Smart decisions for them, good luck getting him to try to get better.
