Full Version: Arizona Cardinals release starting ILB Jordan Hicks

The Cardinals just released starting ILB Jordan Hicks. Hicks was a cap casualty as the Cards save $6.5 million and it allows last year's first round pick Zaven Collins to take his spot. Hicks is still 29 and registered 116 tackles and 4 sacks last season. Maybe we should look into signing him. He played well in a 3-4 scheme and would be a huge upgrade over what we have.
I could see us going after him being he used to play under Doug
As I said in the FA thread, he'd be an awesome get if we didn't have the Jack problem. It's just extremely bad to pay two off ball linebackers over $10M+, as we found out with Schobert.

That said, Hicks is WAY better than Jack so if we could convince Hicks to come here I would briefly attempt to trade and then cut Jack in a heartbeat if needed.

The only reason it was bad with Schobert is because he wasn't very good.
