TV reporter fired for 'covering news event without leftist slant'

'My job is to present all sides, not just the one that aligns with my values'

A reporter for the ABC television affiliate in Seattle who recently tweeted shocking video of the decline of Seattle's downtown was fired for live-tweeting a Proud Boys rally.

His quote does not make sense.   The fact of the matter is that if your job fires you for presenting all sides, then apparently, your "job" is not to present all sides.

The fact of the matter is that all news outlets have a bias toward the left or the right and the people working there cover the news in that manner.  A perfect example are people that actually leave one station and go to another and totally change their reporting. Remember Alisyn Comerota @ CNN?  She used to be the biggest right-wing reporter at Fox .... then she left and all of the sudden she was reporting with a left perspective.

So you're saying news outlets are garbage and should be burned down?

The job of a "journalist" is to report the news in a factual way, not biased one way or the other.  Once "bias" is introduced, it's no longer "journalism" and becomes an "op-ed"

The task of deciding what new facts are newsworthy and which aren't involves biases.

Bias has to be both disclosed and minimized. It can never be eliminated from any reporting.

HA! The next time a 'News' journalist/TV Personality discloses their bias will be the first time.
