Crazy depth in talent at DE in this draft, but I sure do wish Will Anderson was eligible. His grade next year is going to be way above those 4 ends in this draft.
Maybe we'll have a shot at him next year.

I’m seeing a lot of players and former players (MjD and Griffin) who prefer Walker as well. The more I see the more OK I’d be with a pick, though I’ve been on the Hutchinson bandwagon since the beginning
I wouldn't like it, but I wouldn't completely hate it either. Walker does simply move differently than everyone else in the class. I get why FOs and coaches think they can develop him into the best player from this draft.
I will say that I don't get the Walker/Aldon comp they are very different players.

That would be so stupid! The kid has never played 3-4 OLB. He was a 3-4 DE in college. You don't spend a #1 overall pick or even a first or second day pick on a guy that you have to teach a whole new position to. If we drafted Walker, I may have to walk away. This would be akin to when we selected Matt Jones in the first round and tried to make him a WR.

Aldon Smith? He's willing to risk it all to get a guy like Aldon Smith? I've heard many people comparing Hutchinson to guys like Ryan Kerrigan and Jared Allen and Baalke would rather have a guy that compares to Aldon Smith?
I like Walker but not at 1. Have to go Hutch
Just don't see anything special from Hutch. And his 3-cone sucked. The time was great, the performance was absolutely garbage... that little stutter step instead of bending? Ew. Gross.
Yeah my gut is still to go with Hutch. I don’t like drafting guys based on combine related potential.
I thought we already tried drafting players based on their physical traits? Taven and Chaisson for example.
Still, I'm not an expert on collegiate prospects but I just feel we'll draft the wrong guy whoever it is.
Why risk so much for walker
Hutch is clearly the safe option, why role the dice on 1 player

I don't like this line of thinking. They need to take who they feel will be the best player and not just take a guy because they think he's safe. With that said, I think Hutch is the better player and will have the better career, i dont think its rolling dice with Walker because hes a pretty good player though. Hopefully they get it right

It is when he would have to learn a new position, going from 3-4 DE to 3-4 OLB.

He'd just have to put on about 10 pounds at stay at 3-4 DE. I don't think that would be a problem

Who says he would have to move to 3-4 OLB?

You don't draft a 3-4 DE #1 overall. That would be insane!

But would you put it past Baalke? I have no confidence in him. Maybe its just pre-draft #becausejaguars jitters on my part.

No, I wouldn't put it passed Baalke at all, which is why I wanted him fired so badly. I don't trust the guy at all. Hopefully, he isn't as stupid as I think he is.

3-4 DE's are not pass rushers. They are glorified run stuffers. We desperately need pass rushers and in a 3-4 scheme, the pass rush comes from the OLB's. Drafting a 3-4 DE in round 1 is about asinine as taking a RB in the first round.
I know a franchise that did. Twice. I'll wait until draft night vefore I can relax - hopefully
