Pushing aside the negativity, how excited are you guys to finally see this duo? Obviously the hope is that both guys can return to 100% but if they do man.. I think we might have an extremely dangerous backfield especially with the addition of Scherf to the O-line.
I'm no doctor, I don't know much about their injuries but I am extremely hopeful that these guys can take some pressure off Trevor and make some plays. But what do you all expect out of the two?
Etienne has that homerun ability. I’m definitely excited about him coming back.

Pushing aside the negativity, I have no idea what we can expect.
I really hope we bring in a third option that will allow us to ease these guys back into their workloads and not risk a reinjury by trying too hard too soon.
I think it will be good to have a stable of decent backs; I think last year one of the biggest drawbacks was that once we did give JRob carries, there was no second back suited to help him or to change pace on passing downs. I'll be interested to see if both can return to full or near-full capability pre-injury what fresh legs will do for each of them.
I don't know what the timetable is on JRob, but thinking that if we give him a few (5-7) weeks into the season before putting a lot of work in his hands, he'll be a lot less wore down by the end of the season. Not saying we should expect to be in the postseason hunt, but it sure would be nice to play the role of spoiler for a few teams!
2 talented backs - worthy of excitement.
Injuries to overcome and uncertainty along the o-line temper any excitement for now.

Whatever. I don't feel the 3 screws and plate in my ankle but that doesn't mean it's 'normal'. Hope he recovers fully.
Yeah.
The first time he's really hit while planting with the repaired foot, he's gonna be keenly aware of the hardware.
Hopefully it's at least a good sign he'll be ready to "find out."

Not sure I can push aside the negativity completely until I know both are healthy and up to pre injury form.
Based upon what I've read, Etienne will be healthy by training camp.
Assuming he is 100% healthy, I'm excited abut what he could do in Pederon's offense given his skill set.
I heard a sound byte of him this morning saying the only limiting factor he sees now is how much weight he can squat.
I'm excited but how bad is the jags luck? So many key injuries to crucial players . I know all nfl teams have to "deal with it" but sheesh

Exactly. I have yet to see a skill player return to 100% after a Lisfranc injury. I hope Etienne will be the first, but history is not on his side. I believe Robinson will return to 100%, but he might miss a few games until he is completely healthy. We're gonna need someone to fill in, until this happens. Thank God, this RB class is so massive and loaded with talent. It should be easy to find an UDFA that can serve as a good "fill-in" for the first few weeks of the season.

I believe a lisfranc injury was the start of Cam Newtons decline too
Trying not to get excited
But hard not to
Just got that lingering feeling it could end up like a wet fart

If it was wet, I've got news for you, that wasn't a fart, go check your pants.

Um, that was his point.

It effectively ended Corey Grant's career.

Same, I think ETN will work well in that RPO system if he's healthy. Imagine having a 2 back set, with an option to hand off the Robinson or swing it out to ETN it sounds dangerous.

Yeah it is a bit worrying, but I'm hoping maybe the fact that he's still so young will aid him to a better recovery than, MJD for example who I believe also had a lisfranc when he fell off (I could be mistaken, but i'm not sure)
Robinson's injury, at his age, is a bit easier to return to 100% form than ETNs I think, but it often takes a full year to get back to that 100%. James' greatest strength is his vision though, so there's a real good chance that he is still very effective grinding out good yards.
Both of the injuries to these RBs are serious. Some backs never come back or are not quite the same. Lets hope for the best for these young men.
