Vic's repeated WRs are a dime a dozen trope may have done more damage to this fanbase than almost anything else.

Agreed completely!

Dating back to 2000, we missed on Soward, R. Williams. Matt Jones, Justin Blackmon, amd Leonard Fournette.

Those first four receivers failed at least in part due to substance dependence issues.  Soward and Blackmon had the toold to be explosive as hell, but they couldn't stay sober enough to do anything.  Fournette had some explosiveness, but the team got rid of him because they saw him as a bit of a knucklehead.  Tamps, of course, snapped him up and made two straight playoffs, winning a Super Bowl.

When we actually come close to hitting on a player, we promptly let him go.

I'm getting the sense that Josh Allen will be the next productive player to go, having not met his potential here because they purged the defense of the help needed to enable him to thrive.

I can only hope Trevor Lawrence doesn't leave here screaming.

They haven't exercised the fifth year option yet, right?

They have until Monday to do so but I wonder if they're just waiting until after the draft or if there's more to it.
