He has no pass rush technique because he never was asked to do it. His PFF pass rush grade was in the 260’s. It’s honestly ridiculous we are considering him #1 overall. If you aren’t sold on Hutch or Thibs just take Sauce or Williams. Stop with the [BLEEP] project picks.
If we somehow traded down we could prob pick up Walker AND Jamo. I feel like no other team has shown interest in Walker.

We can draw some NBA comparison with former #1 picks

Cavs - Anthony Bennett
Wizards - Kwame Brown
Clippers - Michael Olowakandi

Jaguars - Travon Walker

"No other team has shown interest in walker" is one of the most uninformed things I've read on here in a while. You boys need to get on board. Walker is going to us at #1.
Ive got a lingering feeling the team is gping to pick neal

I hope we get hutch but my feeling is neal

Stopped watching this guys analysis after the first clip. "Good rep by evan neal" as if Neal didn't just get pushed back like an adult pushing a child lmao. It was a 3 step drop ball out slant.. Walker likely wouldnt have got the sack if he came free..

That wasn't a W for Neal in any stretch of the imagination.

Bulldawgs beat alamba in nationtial champinship this year.  Walker was a reasson the defease was good for Georgia.not the whole reason, but a reason.

O-Linemen know what the play is pre-snap.

QB never looks at another target, so the play went to its primary/intended target. That means Neal knows how much time he's got and how many steps he has to work with.

I was moved off his spot but not egregiously so for the play that was called.
"Good rep by Neal" is maybe a little kind, but it doesn't illustrate him being "pushed like a child" either.
Just a routine play for a tackle protecting a quick slant.

The play around 3:30 shows Walker using leverage and strength to beat Neal in a more concerning way to me. Even if the ball is already coming out.

That may be true. But Jags are banking on teaching him to pass rush. Think about how long that will probably take. He won't have a real off season this year due do the draft stuff to real improve all those fundamentals, so basically any improvement this year will be a bonus.

Essentially the Jags would be burning his first and probably second seasons in order to teach him the position.
Really? The pessimism is out of control on this board. How about we wait until at least preseason until we start hammering the pick that people get paid millions of dollars to make....

This was going to happen either way most likely, but I agree, he isnt lifting us up most likely.

I mean this is the most Jaguars pick I could imagine at number 1.

With plays like these, too, I often wonder if part of the design is too block a little "spongy" so the end continues their rush and doesn't disengage to try to stop the screen/slant play. Make them think they are getting the better of you, and in the end, you're just the decoy.
First #1 draft pick ever that was not selected as All Conference or All American.

Never saw a #1 pick look so distant after being selected.

Never saw a front office not shaking hands and giving high fives to each other after selecting the #1 pick.

This was just weird
The Hurricane is a perfect mame for you   you show up once a year to dump crap in people.

is this really fun for you?  trolling?

why don't you just go dump this garbage wherever you post for the rest of the year.
This pick gives me flashback to when they picked Tyson Alualu at #10

Well unless you are blind, I'd say he posts pretty much every day.

He is one of the most established, and IMO, respected (and hilarious) posters on this board, and posts pretty much daily.

Let's see, there was Eli getting picked by the Chargers, but can't recall if that was R1P1 or not; the empty, half-hearted posture as he held up the ceremonial jersey was certainly something I won't forget.
If you knew it was the pick, and spent all day knowing it was the pick, how surprising is it when Goodell reads the card?

I'll take it over CJ's reaction a few years ago, wasn't that the one where his family just chuckled over everything that went down?

Yeah. He can line up at end, tackle or linebacker as well. I just don't know how you approach him with the first overall pick though. He's not going to dominate in one particular area and that's where my concerns would be with him as a rookie.

He'll get lost in the shuffle if the coaching staff cannot hone in on what he's good at and just let him stick with that. Still put off quite a bit with only one solid year of production coming off the heels of playing around Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt.

I don't like this pick. I would rather have Jordan Davis over him or even Ikwonu.

I completely agree. He’s basically a poor man’s Melvin Ingram when he came out of South Carolina. It took him 4 seasons to flourish. Both had versatility.

His first 3 seasons -

- 1 sack
- 1 sack
- 4 sacks

His last 5 seasons -

- 10.5
- 8.0
- 10.5
- 7
- 7

Even if Walker has that same type of production, it still won’t be worth the first overall pick. Wow!
