He is playing with great effort this year.

The only bummer is no way will be able to sign and keep all these guys eventually. But get the leaders.

Allen and JRob should be priority/no brainers (Allen being the top priority) this off season. We got 3 years before we have to re-sign Lawrence. 2 years for sure, but then the question is do you exercise the 5th year option and let him play on that, or just give him a new contract in year 4 before it even gets to that.

Walker Little gives us the ability to let Jawaan Taylor test FA at the very least. If he walks it's ok, no need to overpay for him when you have Walker who can step right in.

Something will definitely have to be done at the TE position this off season. Luke Farrell will be the only TE on the roster this off season.

Here's the full list of guys who will be FAs after this season...

Evan Engram
Marvin Jones
Dawuane Smoot
Arden Key
Chris Manhertz
Dan Arnold
C.J. Beathard
Andrew Wingard
Jawaan Taylor
Adam Gotsis
Tre Herndon
JaMycal Hasty
Cole Van Lanen
Riley Patterson
James Robinson
Tim Jones
Ross Matiscik
Brandon Murphey
Just saw that Josh Allen is currently leading the league in pressures.
He needs to show me something..

Watched back all the highlight plays from the Raiders yesterday. On every Raider's highlight Josh Allen, when he is tasked at rushing the QB...isn't beating SINGLE blocks. He just disappears, or he's one second late, OR...the RT takes him completely out of the play.

And it's not because they are keying on him. He's just not beating his blockers or making good, hard tackles.

He needs to be better.
I was hoping to see the Allen/Walker duo making life a living heck for QB's but sadly I don't see them making any impact. Generally we're only getting pressure schematically. Our pass rush "specialists" aren't doing a darn thing and it shows on the entire defense. We're slacking.
considering that 1 sack today was cause of allen flushing Carr into Smoot, then the 2nd sack on last drive Walker flushed Carr again into Smoot. they are doing there job but the Backend needs to not allow such quick passes so they can get home more often.
He'll be back next year. I could see this team investing, yet again, on the front lines defensively to try and make Allen and Walker that much more relevant. Which is fine. If it means taking Jalen Carter to add more rushing lanes? Great. If it means taking Keelee Ringo to add another second or two in the backend of the secondary for them to get there? Even greater.

I don’t disagree. The team obviously needs an interior rusher and at least one man coverage corner. But how many high picks and overpaid free agents does it take to have a solid defense?? I remember the great defenses of the Steelers, Cowboys, Raiders and Bears. But the game has become almost “arenaish” stressing big play offensives. Almost to the point of needing to score 30+ to win.

Trust me. I agree. It's been frustrating for me to watch as well. Especially after the majority of that $233M this off season was specifically thrown at the defense, in addition with the 1st overall selection and the 27th overall selection being added to it. Not to mention the the 2nd RD and 3rd RD picks made last year at CB and Safety to add further firepower.

I already said in another thread or two. I am not resigning Josh Allen to some crazy figure next year unless he starts wrecking house now this year or shows that he's capable of hitting 10.5 sacks next year or more. He's not worth the $18M+ yearly figure him and his agent are more than likely going to ask for.

"Almost" sacks aren't actual sacks. It's a participation trophy statistic and the high end pass rushers that actually get paid the big bucks actually rack up those sacks that warrant the $18M+ yearly salary they command. My line of thinking was that they need to go full tilt on offense next year. Take the best receiver on the board in RD1. Double down in RD2 or RD3 and take another receiver or a viable receiving threat at the tight end position.

My ultimate goal would be to add two receivers and two tight ends from next year's class to add on with Ridley, Jones and Kirk in the off season. They need to resign Engram and/or Arnold as well.
