Shows you how much of the Pre draft talk is bs.

Whether it's true or not, him or anybody else isn't going to just come out and say if they were divided/split. That'd be a bad look and bad for business.
What else was he supposed to say?

If you were just being a company man you don’t say it with the conviction that Doug did. I mean he cut the guy off and said I don’t know where this came from but there was never a split.
I do not believe it was pr talk. Pederson was adamant.

I haven't watched it yet, but I'm just talking in general. None of them would have said otherwise regardless.

It's quite easy to say you were discussing the pick up to the last moment and it could have gone a number of ways. There's no shame in that.

Kinda scary tbh, I'd expect people to have some opinion. Like JDR wanting Suggs over Lefty etc. If everyone is in an echo chamber you all better be drinking the right kool-aid or it's going to keep going bad here in Duval.

Doesn't show anything. How stupid and dysfunctional of a front office would you look if all three of your major leaders came out and said:

"Yeah. I actually wanted Ekwonu. Khan wanted Hutchinson. Baalke wanted Walker. We decided to put their names in a hat and we had Khan Jr. do the honors. It just so happened to be Walker".

Just like any leaky relationship. You might have a lot of drama going on behind closed doors but outside in the public eye or around a group setting with friends and family you're really just putting on a show and playing nice for the sake of saving face and keeping the peace.

Would it matter if there was a split though? In a draft like this it would almost be strange if Doug, Trent and Shad all liked the same guy. Front offices disagree I don't really see the harm in admitting it if it's true.

True but Peterson literally interrupted when the question was asked and made it quite clear that there was no dispute. I think Peterson would’ve let The general manager answer the question so I don’t believe there was a dispute

You don't fan flames publicly if there is disagreement or animosity in private. You also say what was said so that your shiny new pick comes in with the mindset that every last person in the building is in support of their development and status as the potential future of the franchise.

Disagreement in the back rooms is fine, if not healthy. It benefits nobody to suggest that the decision was not one that all involved could not support once the decision was made. If there is still unsettled business, that's for them to sort out once the doors are closed again.

That's true. Disagreement is fine but not to the point where one guy is pounding the table for someone and the other guy for someone else. I just thought it was unlikely to be serious as there's  no one I would have pounded the table for at no. 1.
