Thank goodness, Don't have to see those ugly yellow uniforms
Do we really deserve a Thursday/Sunday/Monday night game? Come on guys, the Jags have earned an ousting for primetime games with their less than mediocre play. Not many people want to watch the Jags get busted up or contend with another loser team. This is who we are to the rest of the world until we can put a product on the field that proves them wrong. Primetime is for stars.
Put that prime time game down.  Prime time games are for closers.

I guess San Francisco, Chicago, and the Rams have stars because they have Primetime games.

This. The uniforms as they stand are bad enough.. Our color rush has to be the most embarrassing uniform in all of sports. Until we win games and win frequently I doubt we will get anything more than a sympathy TNF game. Looks like this year we didn't even get that.

All other things being equal, Jacksonville doesn't pull the same kind of national or even regional interest that San Fran, Chicago or LA do.  Those three are major markets.

The league is protecting the shield by not scheduling a team in a prime time game that has routinely been blown out in them.  Ratings matter.  To the league's credit, they've given us more than our fair share of prime time games over the past 9 years given this team's performance.  I guess they'll have no more of that.  Time to earn it for next season or perhaps a late season flex, but that's highly unlikely even if we are doing well.

It's not about wins and losses it's about Market size. How did the 49ers, Rams, and bears earned it with their play?
This has to be the easiest/best schedule in years

For a team that has proven it can win somewhat consistently over the years, absolutely.

For the Jaguars?  Absolutely not.

If the last two games of last year plus the free agency additions are actually a preview of what we can expect going forward, where it looks like the coaches did some preparation and were actually able to translate that into team performance, we've got a shot of getting though that first half road stretch with a decent record.

If not, and there is more of the same, we'll end up talking draft by the Cincinnati game.

No... a 3-win team does not deserve a prime time game...

But on the flip side, the Raiders sure as hell don't deserve five. Why do they get five?

That's 8-8, but if they can win the last two that might get them a Wild Card at 10-6.

I said this a month ago, but nothing's changed... I see the Jaguars going 8-8 plus or minus two games. At best this means 10-6 and maybe a Playoff birth... at worst this means 6-10 with more work to do.

And that is why winning is important, you aren't putting a loser, relatively young, small market team on national TV, it will not draw ratings. However, a 10-1 Jaguars team hot and primed for a Superbowl push would certainly warrant a push to SNF, as your every day average casual fan just wants to watch great football teams play together. If it were solely based on market size the Colts, Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Titans and Saints would never see prime time. The Packers also are in the smallest city with an NFL team. They all have smaller overall regional markets than us, yet they all get prime time games. Win( or at least be relevant every so often) and you're in, its that simple.

A quote from some article I was reading.

" For one, we won't have to sit through three hours of watching the Browns, and two, we won't get a Jaguars Thursday night game this year, which means we won't have to stare at Jacksonville's mustard-colored jerseys for three hours. I mean, Blake Bortles could barely stand looking at the jerseys and he plays for the team."

The Texans have no QB and are probably a mess on offense to start out the season on the road.

How in the world do you have us beating the Titans in Tennessee week two? I see Mariota and that offense running away with the division crown.

We play at Houston and Tennessee plays here

Just saying that you shouldn't bash the Texans for the Osweiler trade (because he was terrible) AND say that they have no QB going in to 2017.  Seems like that is basically the same thing.  Heck I think that playing Savage/Weeden at QB is probably an upgrade.

We're 3-1 in our last 4 Thursday night games...

Oh yeah... my bad.

Still, I see us beating the team without a QB and then losing to the team with a QB.

The schedule is good but the beginning of the season is really tricky since we are against division rivals, Texans and Titans games will be really important.
