He's a Loooooooong Shot but you gotta root for him to make the practice squad.

Time Will Tell.

NH3...
What a heart warming story that no one will be able to recall in 2 years time.

That’s being generous. I say 2 days after he’s cut.

I disagree. For maybe an original franchise like say the Steelers or Bears sure.

But how many father/son players have even had the opportunity to be on the team for this franchise? We forget this team is only 28 seasons old.

If anything, the PR department is praying he makes the active roster at some point because then you can tie the best era of Jags football to this squad with JS3 and even tie it into Boselli making the HoF finally. Plus by him being on team, it gets Jimmy Smith's name out there more for people to recognize how great of a player he was so he can at least be included in that discussion.

Plus even if he is a RB, maybe he dedicates himself to being a great special teamer on all 4 units and gets a spot that way.

You’ve got a Hollywood script in the making here.  Maybe Trey could get married to Keenan McCardell’s daughter and have a son named J.K. Smith-McCardell who also eventually goes on to play for the Jags as a receiver and dominates the league.  I’d get my popcorn ready for that one.

Hey, there is reason why heartwarming sports stories have become the Hollywood joke. Those silly heartstring stories still bring in fans and get an audience. Not every fan is purely motivated on championships or are diehards like most of this board.
