“We never voted for that. Though you would have heard it if you paid attention to what they said when they thought no one was listening, one ever said to us openly, “Hey, we want to raise the price of gas to $10 a gallon so suddenly the green scams of our campaign contributors will be economically viable.” Oh, they said it to and among themselves – this is not happenstance but a plan. They want this, and if scores of African babies die because the price of food gets too high and the supply to low, oh well. Just more collateral damage in the quest for swell feelz thanks to the faux-faith of the coastal elite.”

Couldn't happen to a more deserving state. Their governor is one of the worst in the nation. Even worse than Newsom. Though Newsom must be doing a fantastic PR job to brag to his citizens that the state surplus is $8.1B while their taxes are thru the roof and poverty overruns their large cities. There's no sheep like compliant sheep.
*sigh* Great. More people moving to Florida.
I don't think it takes much to get elected in the western coastal states anymore. Just say "climate change, Trump is bad and cut the [BLEEP] off little boys" and you're in.

In Washington state, you have to add "rename lakes after indigenous people's tribe/leader's name". Then you are a shoo-in.
I really think it's more sinister than that. There are no major investors putting their money into fracking anymore. I know it drove oil to $0, but you can work that out by limiting supply. You don't stop investment altogether. Our government works far too closely with the super-rich these days, and people need to start seeing the connections.
