NFL takes $7.5 million from each team in settlement for Rams' move from St. Louis to L.A., per report

Rams owner Stan Kroenke had said he would pay all legal costs, but now says he did not agree to pay for settlement

The Rams' move from St. Louis to Los Angeles was not cheap, but owner Stan Kroenke had agreed to pay all legal costs for the relocation. By the time the Rams and NFL reached a settlement with the city of St. Louis, the cost of the lawsuit had reached $790 million.

On its face this is outrageous(or an attempt to elicit outraeg), but if memory serves teams have to vote to approve relocations (Ralph Wilson voted against anus modell moving the Browns, for instance). So, indirectly, every team plays a part in the relocation. Kroenke probably wanted to keep paying lawyers to fight and fight until the city ran out of patience or funding, and the league didn't want disclosure or other incidentals from a trial coming into public view, I'm sure.

Pretty sure that the recent TV deals more than make up that loss. We spent more in dead money on guys like Nick Foles and Blake Bortles, so this is just another cost of doing business.
