I didn’t see it the first time but was wondering what was causing the first thump. Only when I watched again in full format did I see Manhertz being a pass test dummy.

If the vets are getting the installs done on pace and you can lessen the chance of injury (after losing two backups in practice recently) then a few days off can be smart.
I'm sure some will complain that a team with our record the past few years gets any breaks at all, but this kind of thing makes sense on a lot of levels - one of which being - it likely helps cultivate good will between coaches and veteran players.

Makes real sense. If the vets have reached or exceeded the level of competency he wants they did earn it. AND as an added benefit the younger players will get more reps.

Lol ... Manhertz is lucky that wasn't one of Leftwich's missiles or he'd be in the hospital. Oh wait, if it was coming from Leftwich, it would have ended up in the 200 level of the stadium.
Prince needs to assist Manhertz. Perhaps tell him to turn his head toward the QB a little earlier and put his hands up to catch the ball.
