He was quick to put a finger on the problem for all to see.

He just failed to fully appreciate the grind.

He was looking to go deep, but the slot was jammed at the line and he couldn't connect in the corner of the end zone.

His upright stance left him too exposed.  He should have tried to sneak it in under center.
