I cannot come up with a scenario where the government could take away our cars.  Any politician that proposed such a thing would be thrown out of office.

We want to own cars, great big powerful corporations want to sell us cars, and the WEF has no particular power over anything.  They talk a lot.  That's about it.

What scenario can you see where the government could take away our cars without our permission?

The MO is pretty clear by now. Either a crisis or regulation to solve crisis, which increases prices of desired good, give tax breaks or incentives for alternate solution, people migrate. Basically, make a product unaffordable and transition into desired product. People will accept it as long it's not too much at once. Also, you're making the same mistake I used to make in thinking there are a bunch of competing corporations. There aren't... not like there used to be. There are competing interests, certainly, but, by and large, the abuse of the stock market has allowed many people to profit from the success of other companies, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as LLC loopholes have created a lot of shared money at the top. They are all profiting. The largest wealth transfer in history occurred during 2020, in which the rich benefited tremendously. Mom and pop shops are going out of business left and right. CEOs and elites who hold shares and interest in multiple, major corporations meet to plan the future, even adopting a new system of capitalism, in which they are the authors of civilization. You really think that's going to work for you, bro?

If you wrote the hobbit, the village would just give all their money to Smaug with the hopes that he'd help them build their Utopia. Bilbo would look at the townspeople and say, "I can't think of a scenario where Smaug the things that we want; let's just let him rule us."
