I hope we shock the world and take this guy with our 1st pick.  I would be happy with Fournette as well though

I'd love to see McCaffery as the pick, and I do feel he's the best RB in this draft. It's just tough to predict as they never brought him in for a visit.

Maybe because no red flags, the guy went to Stanford, and he has a thick bloodline.  They didnt bring Thomas in either who also went to Stanford.  I dont think there is any character or injury concerns with those guys so maybe they will just use the tape and want to use those 2 visits for other guys.

Sure this is very possible. I'd love to see either Stanford player at #4.

I like McCaffrey too but I don't think we'll take him.  Has Dave ever taken a guy in the first round yet that we didn't have in for a visit or worked out?  I'm starting to think that we really want to trade back and draft an O-lineman.

I don't think we brought in Blake

we did
I'd love it
Yes, best player in the draft

We didn't.

NH3...
I LOVE McCaffrey's abilities as he tops all RB's agilities, but Caldwell per Coughlin is looking for TOUGHNESS to where Fournette is better suited. We already have an finess RB in Yeldon.

Yeldon is a trash can

I don't know that Yeldon is quite finesse enough to call finesse, and then again he's not really tough enough to call tough... but he's kind of close on both counts. ...just not a prime example of either.

Now Corey Grant is a finesse RB. ...and Ivory is what I'd call a power RB.

Still, I don't think last year gave us a good look at any of the RBs because the scheme totally neglected them.

He's a 2nd round talent to me.
Joe Mixon is the best RB in this draft.

We didn't bring Blake in, Caldwell's style.  If Thomas is there at 4, I'd be willing to be serious money he will be a Jag, barring a trade down.

"Christian McCaffrey has ridiculous foot speed"
Levar Ball says that cant be possible

He will be there between 10-20. So if the Jags really wanted him I hope they trade back a bit.

Bortles was one of 7 QBs brought in for a visit along with Bridgewater, Manziel, Carr, Mettenberger, Garoppolo, and McCarron.

And he was interviewed by John O while he was at Everbank. I remember thinking how wooden he sounded, compared to some of the others.

This is from the Jaguars website

"Bortles' selection culminated a long pre-draft process for the Jaguars, a predraft process in which the team's top decision-makers - Caldwell, Bradley and Senior Vice President of Technology and Analytics Tony Khan - attended the Pro Day workouts of players such as Manziel, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater of Louisville, Bortles and Clowney.

The team also had the above-mentioned players into Jacksonville for predraft visits along with projected Top 10 possibilities such as Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack, Robinson, Watkins, Texas A&M offensive tackle Jake Matthews and Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans."
For me

Fournette is the clear #1- a top 10 talent

Cook/mcCaffrey are 2a and 2b- top 20 talents.

Regardless of who we take, if we take a RB early, we have to compliment that with quality investments in the offensive line. We failed to do that in FA (traded for Albert which is an upgrade) so it must be in the draft.
