I don't know if this is allowed, and if not, then moderators please delete this topic, but I thought I would share some links that reference some of the lesser known people/issues on the midterm ballot.  Having been a stupid voter in the distant past who usually just voted out judges arbitrarily and 'Christmas tree voted' on Soil and Water candidates and Amendments , I thought these might help a bit.  Enjoy.

Judges:
https://jaxtoday.org/2022/10/12/nov-8-vo...da-judges/

As I recall, almost all of these judges also have their own Wiki pages, with varying degrees of info.

Soil & Water Conservation District Group 3:

Amendments:
1. Limitation on the Assessment of Real Property Used for Residential Purposes

2. Abolishing the Constitution Revision Commission

3. Additional Homestead Property Tax Exemption for Specified Critical Public Services Workforce

Early voting is still in effect: October 24, 2022 - November 6, 2022. All sites are open 7:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.

I wish you would have posted this yesterday before I voted. I skipped voting on any of the judges because I was too lazy to research all of them.
The Florida constitution's language on redistricting is clear and was approved by more than 60% of voters. As recently as 2015 the court applied it correctly.
Then suddenly in 2022 they started pretending to not understand it. Only LaBarga dissented from that.
Regardless of what you think the districts should be, following the Florida constitution should be priority 1 for any judge. We have to recall all of the Supreme Court Justices except LaBarga.
Now everyone knows who they probably shouldn't vote for.
If I lived in Duval, I damn sure wouldn't vote for Deegan..

Yuck and Yikes!!

AMERICANS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EDUCATE THEMSELVES ABOUT THE CANDIDATES ON THE BALLOT PRIOR TO VOTING.   THIS IS BLASPHEMY TO THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS !!

Given the above, and to follow suit with my prior voting tactics, Carrie Ann Wozniak appears to be the hottest judge (and i assume she is of Polish descent) so I'll vote for her.
We really should spend more time talking local politics. It just takes actual work to follow.

Isn’t she running for mayor or something?
Dang, I didn't realize this was specific to Duval County.  I just wasted 3 minutes prepping for the election.

Deegan already lost her run for Mayor but I believe is running again in 2023.  Dan Hicken lucked out when she decided on marriage infidelity and had an affair and subsequently got married to Mr. Leatherskin.

Thanks. I remember her when she was Hicken. Then she's Deegan and so is the weatherman and they're all at the same station. I figured that would be awkward. Fun times! Lol.

I have family that worked at the station in those days.  The stories that were shared.  And no, don’t ask.  I’ll respect my informant.

Gee, for someone who seems to pride themselves on seeing all sides of a candidate/issue and the entire body of work of a candidate, you certainly seem to be in a singleminded mood here.
I abstained from LaBarga and yes to the others, just because Mikey is the biggest dupe of them all. Whatever cheatsheet or article he was using to arrive at that conclusion was probably written by a progressive.

Most of the Florida Supreme Court's body of work is too hard for me to understand.   A lot of it is resolving unusual situations that only affect a few people. This one was easy to understand though, at least for me.

There was a circular on reddit from progressives taking the same stance.  They said that all of them but LaBarga had had too many prior associations with conservative legal advocacy groups.   I had already read some decisions and formed my opinion before seeing that, but I forgive you for wanting to be opposite from them. But to vote opposite me just out of spite, man, not good. Be better.

All judges are lawyers/advocates before they become judges.  They're expected to put aside their personal convictions as they decide cases, but they're not expected to have zero controversial personal convictions.  No one would be able to be a judge if that was the case.
