I blame Irsay more the Reich.

I think he'd be a great addition to the staff. Maybe AHC/Offense Consultant.

Doug P should be on the phone asap to get him on board as soon as he’s allowed to by the league. How long do you have to wait in the event you’re fired? Either way I’d love to see the Pederson/Reich combo back together.

Wow, Jeff Saturday is the interim coach. What is Irsay doing
11-07-2022, 01:52 PM
Jeff Saturday new coach hahahahahha
11-07-2022, 01:55 PM
Jeff Saturday? LOL.
Philly SB reunion if Pedersen can get him down here in some capacity. I wonder if Reich is really interested tho. He's had his eye on his planned post-NFL activities (Pastor and motivational speaker) for a while now, and he might just head in that direction while he's still relatively young.
And yes, Irsay is an idiot. He must be either be on drugs again, or going thru detox. Neither event which is conducive to sound decision making.

Irsay certainly should take at least 75% of the blame here. As well as Ballard. They failed in finding an adequate QB prospect to properly develop. Rivers was a quick fix with Luck's retirement. Wentz was another quick fix that went South on them quick. Ryan was also a quick fix that went even further South on them.
They really should have given Wentz another year. Is he great? No. However, you had a chance at the post season last year and you unfortunately had to play a team on the road that historically has your number. These things happen. It wasn't justifiable enough IMHO to jettison him after 17 appearances.
They would have been probably further along and better off this year with Wentz having one year to gel and understand everything that Reich was looking for.

Wasn’t there some tweet by Irsay with disparaging remarks about Wentz after he was traded or was that fake? I saw something about him saying the commies would regret trading for him but it probably was fake.
Regardless, I have to believe Wentz’s trade was all Irsay and not the personnel guys or coaches in that building.
I’ll add, It’s great having Irsay in the division.

Commonly know as Tanking. Scientific name more accurately "Tankous Pillpoppous Punkus"
11-07-2022, 03:14 PM
Who would they tank for though? I am not convinced any of next year's QB prospects are elite nor NFL ready. Not sold on Stroud. Not sold on Hooker. Not sold on Young. They all have had some discouraging performances this year against adequate opponents. Hooker was the only one I was mostly excited for but he looked completely flat against Georgia.

Lol. Irsay is awesome sometimes

11-07-2022, 05:08 PM
No one on their staff has ever called offensive plays.
Heck, should have named the Idiot Kicker (Mike Vanderjagt) Head Coach.
they just went with Wentz, Ryan, and Elinger, so INSERT NAME HERE can't be worse.

You say that, but, it can be worse. Especially with Irsay. Who are they going to hire as their next head coach. Kellen Moore? Dan Quinn? Those are two of the biggest candidates right now considering how well Dallas has played on both sides of the football with missing pieces here and there.
Honestly, my biggest fear is that they end up hiring Brian Flores. Flores is a good football coach. He'll eventually get another chance at it in the NFL. I just don't want him in our division.

Ol' Mel Kiper (take it FWIW) has Will Levis as his #2 QB. Stroud at #1 and Young #3. Follow by Richardson and Hooker. He compares Levis to Matt Stafford.
His top 5 big board is Will Anderson #1, Jalen Carter #2, Stroud #3, Will Levis #4 and Young #5.

That's a bold projection. He's more of a scrambler though. Stafford was more of a pure pocket passer with a cannon for an arm coming out of Georgia. I don't see Stafford when I see Levis. His arm is good. Not great.

It just fills my heart with joy that those spoiled colts fans now have a raging dumpster fire of a franchise to root for.

Question: Think back to the 2018 draft when the Colts traded back from #3 overall with the Jetsto #6 at the top of the draft. They wound up with Quentin Nelson and their RT fro, Auburn.
The Colts had the makings of a dominant OL for 3 and a half seasons. By the end of 2021, their OLwas clearly a weakness, and the Colts had NO speed whatsoever at WR.
Did they handle that draft properly? Did they maximize that trade back?

Just spent an hour in here absorbing. Some interesting takes. Colts fans are somewhere between disbelief and optimism.

This is going to be interesting to watch. Not in the sense of whether it will be successful or not, but just how bad the situation will get. It is entirely up to the coordinators now to keep the team functioning. While Jeff Saturday was a good football player and is nice guy, he’s in way over his head.
