Meniscus tear, not the M/ACL.

Good news then, he'll be ready for the Superb Owl push next season.
It’s time to see what you are made of big fella.

If Cam misses any significant time it is great that we have a quality backup.

This is a great opportunity to show what he can do.  Hopefully he can take advantage and make losing Taylor to FA a bit easier.

And here we go w/this wishful thinking again. First off you're absolutely correct that Little is an Quality Back Up. I Concur. Secondly he has had his chances to surplant Taylor but couldn't overcome.

Some of us hangs on to the scenario of the Little and Dewey overtaking even this late in the season.

If it was meant to be it'll have already happened.

Time Will Tell.

NH3...

I don’t think the Wingard/ Little situations are comparable. Little was a significantly more talented prospect and he is much earlier in his development.

I don’t agree that the book on Little is written. He has not even finished his second year. Considering how big of a jump Taylor made in year 4, I think it is silly to think it must happen for Little in year 2.

I also don’t have any problem bringing Taylor back if Little looks bad. Let’s see how the last part of the season plays out.
I think how Walker plays the rest of the year will factor into the Taylor decision. As will our cap issue.
Walker always looked a lot more comfortable at LT than RT so hopefully he can play well for us down the stretch.

I think he'll be good. He plays a little high and tight at times which is good but a solid veteran can use an inside move and throw you off balance quickly if you're not careful.

The BIGGEST test for Fortner is Thursday night. You want to see what you're made of? Good [BLEEP] luck against Quinnen Williams. He's a handful. And that's putting it mildly.

Not exactly sure how they use Williams but I could see Saleh using stunts with Williams to work Fortner and Little in particular.

Quinnen may not play this week..he missed Sunday with a calf injury. Would.be huge for us if he missed another game.

Based on this (and tom's statement directly above that cap and Little's play determine Taylor's fate), if Little holds the line well at LT, do you all think we slide Cam over, or does he stay at LT and roll Little over?

I'm not sure. What I'd say is if Little plays well we have, at least, a solid back up still on his rookie deal. Due to Cams contract I don't think we pay Taylor so it likely becomes Little at RT for a year. But I could also see them perhaps moving Cam, if they could get a bite, sliding Little over and paying Taylor a slightly smaller contract (or tagging him)

Ohh.  Calf injuries are notoriously unpredictable.  If it's a bruise, he's probably fine, but any kind of a strain at all, and it will need time to heal or it will just strain again or pop when he tries to push off at all.

As far as Little goes, isn't left tackle more natural for him?  He'll probably do pretty well there I think (hope?).

I think cam.was signed here to be our LT for the next few years. That being said, if little plays much better at LT than he looked at RT in training camp then I think it wouldn't hurt to give cam some looks at RT in training camp next year to see if he is a better better fit and making the flip.
What's the cap hit if we trade Cam?

I don't think anyone is very interested but who knows.

Once 2023 calendar year begins, we'd eat 10M of bonus as dead money and save 12.25M against the cap. His salary next year is 16M guaranteed with additional per-game bonuses over the season, so he's a little pricier to the trading team than the cap we save.

I don't see that happening, At the very least I keep him around for the next season, even if we slide him to RT while Little takes over LT. I highly doubt Taylor plays here next season.

If you watched the play that Cam got hurt on, then you would have noticed he was in at RT and he got beat. Then the defender goes into the side of Cam's knee and causes the injury.

I'm not sold at all on Little at RT.

He'll get his chance at LT now and hopefully he is what we hoped he would be. Then we'll discuss what to do with 2 decent LT's.
