In fairness the team has lost for so long it's understandable that we've all got a slightly pessimistic slant on it ... We've had years of thinking 'Oh hellfire the Chiefs are rolling out Mahomes' or 'Oh crap the Colts are rolling out Manning' ....

In fact come to think of it three months ago we wern't a million miles from thinking 'Bugger, the Texans are rolling with David bloody Mills' hahaha...

As the proverb goes: 'you wanna be the best, well, you 'be gotta beat the best'

Like Pederson says it's all just part of trying to change the mentality of the club and that goes for us as fans as much as the players and staff... Respect not fear ... That's the next step, hopefully we can get there in the next couple of years

The odds are very low the Jags win this game but I don’t care! I’m just happy I get to watch this team, during this season, and these players one more time.

This has been the best season in Jags history regardless of the records of other seasons or where the Jags ended up. This season is #1 for me. All the comebacks. All the downs. All memes (Jags media deserves an Oscar). It’s just been the best.

The Chiefs @ Arrowhead is as tough as it comes but..

Teams can come in flat after a bye whereas we will be full of momentum and ready from the first whistle, The crazy underdog Bengals managed to go into Arrowhead and knock them off last year.

I also keep thinking of 2017 going to Pittsburgh when they had Roethlisberger, Brown and Bell all at their peak and we knocked them out.
I’m still shell shocked..This Jacksonville Jaguars team is dangerous, all they do is win…some way, somehow…
We can beat any [BLEEP] body of that I have no doubt. Bring on KC, bring on the Bills, bring on the damn Megatrons.

That was a funny game that one ... They just wernt interested in us at all. Tomlin is an outstanding coach but I've never figured out why he let Bell and one or two others talk about the Patriots all week beforehand!
I'm rooting for Phins and Ravens hard.
No thanks to facing KC. Not to be a Debbie downer but Reid and Mahomes are another level of coach and QB, certainly a far cry from Staley and Herby.
Phins have almost no chance but our Jags weren't supposed to be even close to the Bills last season and upset them.
But if they both pull out the upset we can face the Ravens at home.
That's my hope

Andy Reid is like 20-3 after a bye

The issue is that KCC strengths take advantage of the Jags weaknesses.

Chris Jones with pressure up the middle.
Great Tight end.
Pass catching RB
Great QB that is hard to contain and get an the ground and is one the best scramblers in the league.

The Bucs handled Mahomes and Reid a couple years back after a bye. Bengals won last year without one. And unless the record keepers lie, the Chefs have lost games this year.  Stop slobbering over Mahomes and Reid like they are invincible. Or at least get a dribble bib.

We just won a game we statistically had 0% chance of winning, per turnover margin stats.  We can beat the Chefs.
I’m sorry…. What?

Who’s slobbering over them? They’re very good and all I did was saying they’re good.

I’m not saying the Jags have no chance but the Chiefs are good. Not sure how you can say otherwise.

Let’s keep the good vibes rolling my dude.
Bros, we've been in a playoff atmosphere for like 6 weeks now... Seriously I feel like this is the longest wildcard weekend in the history of the NFL.

Next weekend feels like it should be the Super Bowl, and it's only the divisional round! I just feel like we're playing with house money right now. KC is too good for us to make the mistakes we always make in the first half... If we come out and are mistake free, we can beat them. But if we are dropping passes, or fumbling, or throwing INTs, they are going to take advantage of it and won't choke like weaker teams do.

Either way, can't wait for next weekend!! What a long, strange journey we've been on, Cat Bros!!!

It isn't slobbering, it's respect for what they've done and accomplished.
As I said up there. Reid has an excellent post bye record.

Exactly.

It’s just literally stating facts. Doesn’t mean I won’t cheer and lose my voice during the game though.
I agree that the matchup is unfavorable.

That's OK. These guys believe they can do it, and they have a chance. Slim odds maybe, but so was that comeback probability.

Interesting thing on this matchup is that Doug is facing his mentor in Reid.

Oh I know how good his record is, I'm just saying we see teams have that 1st round playoff bye and can start cold where the other team is coming in off a win.

And it's not 23-0  Big Grin

It happens. Players start looking ahead, especially if it's a team they've already faced or are their other competition. Not saying that's what's going to happen, but it happens.

Fair enough. Even still I'd prefer the path of least resistance.
Phins and Ravens upset.
We get Ravens at home, KC gets Phins.
Phins then upset KC we beat Ravens and we get AFCCG in Jax vs Phins.
Boom superb owl.

Our chances of beating the Chefs are better than the Fins winning the next two games.

Well I'd rip your hand off for that path right now.

Of course the Chiefs should and will be favored by at least a touchdown. However, let me remind everyone of January 4, 1997. The 2nd year Jaguars are 17 point underdogs against a Denver team favored to win the Super bowl. They had their own version of Mahomes and Kelsey in Elway and Sharpe. They had a future HOF running back in Terrell Davis.

Jaguars 30
Broncos 27

It wouldn't shock me for history to repeat itself.
Thing is, one thing I've learned after almost 40 years of watching football is, when a team is hor enough to comeback from 27 down they're a problem! It almost goes into the destiny and other pseudoisms.

What ever teams they play next should be worried.
