I wouldn't mind starting off with a delayed draw or a traditional screen on the first few series. Getting TLaw time in the pocket is essential to success so proactively trying to slow their rush could pay dividends later on. In addition to slowing the rush, it may force the Chiefs to account for ETN with a safety or nickle corner out of the backfield because he will toast a backer in coverage.
I’m still all about leaving Logan Cooke in jax. I’m not punting.
Establish the running game. Take shots deep.

Ha!  Would be hilarious show of balls by Doug if Cooke was left off the gameday actives list with no other punter off the street taking his place.

I mean it’d be a hell of a statement lol. But in all seriousness if he’s used much at all we lose. Plain and simple.
According to most of the pundits, we should

1. Take a knee
2. Take a knee
3. Take a knee
4. Punt
5. Take a knee
6. Take a knee
7. Take a knee
8. Punt.
9. Take a knee
10. Forfeit because we didn't stand a chance anyway.

Every team scripts their first 15-25 plays on offense . It’s to catch the defense off guard

Jags offense has 1 play, a TD run by ETN.

Then Jags defense scores TDs every time even though they give up some yards.

11- Taking to many knees leads to delay of game penalty and cheifs score a td

Agnew recieves TD

2 point conversion

Mahomes strip fumble TD

Mahomes interception touchdown

Patterson TD after pulling a magic trick out of mahomes book

Its sad knowing mahomes had playoff comebacks in a quarter that were worse than this scenario lol
Opening play is extra point try, Agnew takin it to the house.

Second play is extra point try, Campbell with a pick six

Third play is Etienne up the middle, no gain

Fourth play is a crosser to Kirk

Fifth play is extra point try and after that toss the script out the window, we're up 21-3

A boy can dream, can't he?
To me, there's really only two options.

Try to establish the run game, keep Mahomes off the field with long drives

Or..

Let Trevor be aggressive, and try to win a shoot out with the baddest man in the west.

B. They've got a whole season of tape on this defense
C. Doug Pederson has faced Spagnuolo led defenses before this season and has been successful against them

They will have a script, but they will deviate from it to move chains and those calls will be largely predicated on the coverages KC shows early on.

They're going to sit on a lot of the shallow stuff. The offensive line is going to have to step it up big time this Saturday. Lawrence will need time for the double move routes to develop downfield and he's going to need the screen game to work.

I feel like the screen game with this team has been extremely hit or miss all season for them. That's the one area they need to improve on this summer. Going to be fun seeing how Pederson and Lawrence work their way through this one though.

Just stay the hell out of 3rd and long situations and we should be able to muster up enough points offensively.

I hadn't really given it much thought, but I don't remember a whole lot of production out of traditional screen plays either.
Those wide receiver screens with the quick pass to the guy in back of the bunch formation have worked pretty well for them if I remember correctly though.

I think the typical HB slip screen was pretty deadly early in the season.. and then once it started getting snuffed out we kinda abandoned it. Same with the TE screen except we kept doing it after it started to not work much.

Maybe it's a good time to break it out again a few times...  I just don't remember seeing it lately.  Well, there was one play right about the time we started moving the ball in the Chargers game - Lawrence ended up throwing it in the dirt at the RBs feet because the play was blown up by the defense.

There’s some value in the bolded, but it’s never gonna happen for a significant part of the game with Doug and Trevor.  They’ve proven this year that this is and will always be a pass first offense.  Not to say that ETN won’t get his on the ground and through screens and dump offs.  We’re just not gonna pound them on the ground, though.  Not what we do anymore.

That said, they still were able to muster an 8+ minute drive doing what they do during the last game.

This is not who the Jags are.

They need to continue being themselves. Keep running mesh. Double Chris Jones. Take your deep shots. Hope Chiefs have an off day.

It's fine as long as you know how the defense is going to line up on all those 25 plays.  And if play #1 is no gain or incomplete, do you still stick to play #2?  What if play #1 is a sack for a loss of 10 yards.  Is play #2 still the same play you planned?

Well the jags of late have been neither of the top two things, in the first half. I think personally we've seen that this team thrives on the aggressive 2 minute drill type of offense... and in a game against Mahomes, might be the best time to make use of that strategy in the 1st quarter while the game is 0-0 and not 27-0.
