And I love it!

At the beginning of the year most said a successful season was anywhere from 6-9 wins. And most are justifiably happy with the season as a whole. Myself included..

But now things have changed. We have a great Offensive minded HC / playcaller and a franchise QB  entering his second year in the system. With a Handful of legitimate weapons around him.

Trevor should be playing at an MVP consideration type level next year if he stays healthy.

And just like the bengals bills and chiefs we should be expecting AFC championship / Super Bowl appearances.

Sucks we play in AFC where it is going to be hard to break through the ceiling but it is what it is we are just going to have to be better than them.

Hats off to Doug P for accomplishing this in just one year. And just to be clear I want Doug P to be in Jacksonville as long as Reid has been in KC regardless of where we finish.

But we can now say when we ask what is a successful season from here on out as long as Trevor is with us and healthy.

AFC and Super Bowl champs!

Exciting times!
At least it appears we’re the only one in the AFCS with an elite capable QB in place for a long time. If Lamar stays in Baltimore, that bodes well for keeping that division competitive and hopefully the AFCN division winner below us in seeding most years. If Deshaun returns to something resembling his former self and if Pickett continues to improve, even better.

The chiefs have Herbert to contend with. The Bills have Tua to contend with. By contrast, there is no identifiable threat at QB in our division at the moment.

I’ll take my chances for the next 10+ years where we likely win the division 70% of time or more and host at least one playoff game a year as a result, strong AFC conference competition or not. All I ask for is a chip and a chair. The rest will take care of itself
Man, I think we're Contenders every year. But we still have a lot of holes to fill before we can consider ourselves SB contenders. We're playoff contenders at this point. And honestly, I'm pretty happy about that.

But to be SB contenders, we need to be able to beat the Chiefs and the Bengals. So far, we haven't proven we're good enough to do that. But we're in the mix every year, from here on out.

We have a legit QB and a legit WR group. Our RB is also legit. But with all that said, we still aren't able to beat the top 2 teams of the AFC.

This offseason is gonna be pretty important in terms of who we retain and who we draft.
We know the Jags will get better in the off-season because players will want to come here.
The real question mark is how much better. If Travon Walker and Devin Lloyd start playing up to their draft status, look out. Hope they hit the weight room and the film room religiously.

Yeah, players like D. Hopkins, or Julio Jones or other washed out scrubs who think they can get a free paycheck and easy stats with a great QB.

See, this is why Baalke now is extermely important.

High profile players aren't the answer in free agency.  We got lucky with Kirk, Zay, and Engram.  But you can't just assume you're getting HOF players all the time, the GM better be on his A-Game, otherwise we're gonna find ourselves in Baltimore's situation.
I’m with jaguarmeister, just give me a chip and a chair. I’m not in the Super Bowl or bust crowd.
Yeah, win the division first and foremost. If we're in the playoffs we have a chance, let's strive to be in them every year.
I’ve been thinking lately that with this team being likely to compete for playoff seeding in the future, the London game should always be against an NFC team going forward. It just doesn’t seem reasonable for us to lose a home game in the conference let alone the division with the weight given to those games when it comes to tiebreakers. I wonder if Khan has the ability to insist on this? He should at least make the request.
GET READY FOR THE BEND THE KNEE TOUR IN 23-24, ON THE LIST:

ALLEN
MAHOMES
BURROW
PURDY
PICKETT
WATSON
POSSIBLY JACKSON
Next year there will be a round robin between TLaw, Mahomes, Allen and Burrow as all 4 teams won their division.

No matter what happens, the team will be battle tested for the playoffs, and that is even after 10 games against NFC/AFC South teams that should be enough to win the division.

That is definitely a consideration, but those home NFC games only happen like once every 5-6 years or so.

Hard to make fan base miss out on seeing some of those teams for essentially double that if those games are in London.
A game or two away from the super bowl. Jags will get a little more pieces and it’s right there.

Follow the Steeler's plan, do what you do better each year and keep to your core. Get in the playoffs as much as possible and you will win one hopefully. No bust we have gone all in and it was disastrous for this franchise.

1. 1999 - Forget the cap go all in and sign the last grasp free agents
2. 2008 - Knee Jerk reaction to being close by trading away draft picks for 2 players.

We need to evaluate, improve and get players that surround the QB with talent.
From here on out, it’s [BLEEP] the titans, colts and tinhorns.  Chefs too!
I think the biggest difference is year three Trevor will continue to hit his stride. He was already great year 2, but now he will have another year in the offensive system with receivers he trusts from day 1. This offense is going to cook next year as long as we make sure the offensive line is solid.

I like that we get the chance to face some tough squads. If we can still make the playoffs, then we will be more prepared for what’s ahead. I think we best allen, picket, Watson, and Jackson.

Just like Vic would say.  He was right.  The Colts with Manning and Luck did this as well, rarely making any dramatic move in the off-season.  Just get a couple of big o linemen and replace whatever free agents we let walk...
It’s going to be really weird watching the jags pick so far back in the draft, but I’m looking forward to the draft already.
