Parents have a right to be upset WITH SPECIFIC TEACHERS but not the teaching profession as a whole. As the whole, 99% are doing right by these kids. So instead of lumping the profession together, take it as a case by case or person by person situation.

Why else would a grown man or woman want to talk about sex or sexual identity to a 3rd grader?

And did I or did I not say that there's some A+ teachers out there?

And why get upset because I posted a Tweet by Libs of Tiktok? If the message is truth, does it matter who says it?

So what's this guy's problem?

And this piece of [BLEEP] should be fired on the spot. Get gone.

How would I know what that guys problem is…. I’m not him. Take it up with him.

My point (that you’re completely missing) is that all teachers shouldn’t be lumped together. You keep bringing up specific people as if I’m supposed to answer for them. Should one cop answer for the actions of another? No idea what you do/did for work but if someone else did something, should you have to answer for it?

Do you see a connection with the videos and links that I posted?

Let me help ya out.. Every article and video is different. It's not an isolated incident. It's happening all over the country. I can keep posting links to this garbage, but I won't, you can do your own homework.

And nobody lumped you all together (at least I didn't). You getting upset with someone posting a link to this evilness is more concerning than the person posting the link.

So, if this is becoming far too repetitive of a problem, who are we supposed to look at for answers and who is supposed to be held accountable for this?

Hold. The. Individual. Responsible.

What’s the percentage on these videos compared to every single teacher in the country?

I’ll help. There are roughly 4 million teachers in the US. Let’s give you a good 1,000 teachers that are doing these things (no idea the real number.) Thats .025%.

Do not hold the whole profession accountable for the actions of .025%

It happening ONCE is too many..

I think the school board should be held responsible for this. Maybe it's time to reevaluate the vetting process. How are these scumbags getting through?

If you’re that worried, home school them. No one is forcing you to send them to a public school.

Always blaming teachers. A tale as old as time.

No one is talking about "teaching" in this thread. We are talking about activism. You are conflating your experience with the actual story. If this story said that he raped a kid and the administration knew about it and laughed, would it be acceptable to defend him by saying "teachers are tired." No. Of course not. That's completely nonsensical. What's that got to do with the accusation, dude?

You might not be an activist. The majority of teachers might not be activists. But, you know what? There are activists who are teachers, just like there are pedophiles who are teachers. There is a large community that does not want teachers to be activists. That's the topic. If you want to discuss how overworked you are, go for it. I'd be sympathetic. However, imo, your response to this claim does not follow.

Also, to this point, you are correct. Teachers are not a monolith.

That said, the problem is with the universities. Anywhere they teach critical pedagogy will produce a certain percentage of activist teachers. Those numbers will increase. That might not be you, but it is a problem. It is growing. And it's not just something that can be addressed at the individual level. Its ok for local governments to try to regulate it to a certain degree, and that can only come via an outcry from the citizens affected by it.

Nothing wrong with the article or claim, imo. It doesn't need to cast blame onto every teacher or administration. I agree with you there. Does it do that?

Why does a 3 year old need to learn about sex?
Because there's a pedophile somewhere championing critical theory so they can exploit kids AND there's a lot of idiots who are easily duped by predators. This is the world we live in.

If anyone here thinks there's something wrong with my statement, then you're either the idiot or the predator. Just calling it in advance.

I don’t have a problem with your statement at all. There are lots of bad people out there and lots of dumb people.

My issue is when we try to use blanket statements about teachers as if it fits all. 99% of teachers are trying to do right by this kids and then there’s 1% who aren’t.

“I have no sympathy for teachers because they’re harboring pedophiles” is a blanket statement that implies all teachers are harboring pedophiles. I don’t see any outrage on this board concerning the priests that do this. Teachers are just an easy target on here and I don’t think it’s right.

If a priest is engaged in this sort of behaviour, then they should be excommunicated and jailed. Not necessarily in that order.

I just left, there was no way to win when the whole institution was controlled by the corruption. The corruption itself almost gives the institution its own sentience, it adapts and responds to put down attempts at reformation. Eventually you either leave or get thrown out with your reputation in tatters.

Cleatwood, do yourself a favor and don't get into debates with anyone who makes sweeping generalizations about any group of people, professions, etc. They are not willing to even consider alternative viewpoints from the the ones they possess. I worked in the Duval County School system for just under 40 years and your estimate of .25 % of teachers who are guilty of these accusations is right on target. I believe the same can be said of police and other targeted professions.

Thanks for doing what you do. Our teachers are under-appreciated and underpaid; the same can be said of our policemen. It is no wonder both of these professions are having so many people quit much sooner than they had originally intended.

For those who can't wait to be critical of this post, I believe any teacher who attempts to inappropriately use their position to influence their students sexual preferences should be strongly reprimanded and in most cases, fired. The same goes for any other serious offense they are found guilty of. I have seen some examples when the teachers'  union has supported teachers not worthy of this support. This is a problem which must be corrected. That being said, it is wrong for anyone to make accusations against the teaching profession as a whole when so few are guilty of these offenses.

Actually the Pastorate, but teaching is held in the same regard and burdened by the same reputation these days.

Agreed. Unfortunately, I think it’s the teachers’ union which drives a lot of the mistrust and accusations. Like just about every one else these days, they seem more concerned with ideological messaging.
