It's good to get our NT tied down
Alrightyyy
Welp. You can cross Bresee off the list. RRH and Hamilton contracts leans OLine, pass rusher or DB.

Also think we may see Hamilton more in a DT pass rushing role. Good for him.

Meh, i dont think this has any affect on if we take Bresee or not.  2 different positions and we still need a big body especially with Peters retiring
Its sad the lack of knowledge from the people in the comments on that tweet. Clueless for the most part

A little surprised, but I like big #52 a lot.
I like Hamilton but that does feel like a lot for a guy that seems like a slightly above average rotation player.

My thoughts as well
You mean the Jaguars can sign their own players to a second contract?
After the first 2 rounds, 2020 was actually a pretty solid draft for us.
It's a smart investment. If they can somehow work something out with Smoot and he's coming along from his injury it would be ideal as well.
Hamilton was a below average player his first two seasons. Above average last year.

Kinda wonder if this means the book is closed on Engram's extension.

Has Ham really played like a 10M a year NT? I guess for now, do the deal so hopefully he's less expensive as the other big contracts come due, but the timing is odd.

when you draft decent guys, it does happen. Shocking, I know.
Good. I look back to Baalkie and Petersen's interview where they both said the vision was...

"A good mix of guys on their first contract and guys on their second contract."

Not really, because as it stands now, signing Engram to an extension would actually reduce this year's cap hit.

I assume that's what you were talking about.
I like it. Keeping ur guys, one less need going into the draft. To get where we want to go, we're going to need some third rounders worthy of second contracts.
The tremendous performance by DeVon Hamilton in the Jaguars comeback win over the Ravens last November was when the Jaguars long term future plans regarding him came to mind on this end. After watching Hamilton in some of the other Jags games that followed, including when he wasn't in game when the Jags were on Defense, I think this contract extension was a very good decision for both parties.

He is part of the core on defense.
Always excited to see players extended. Glad to have him!
