She's worse than Biden, only California would elect someone so completely out of it.
She's a Senator.. She doesn't have to work anymore. They just casually show up to keep up appearances and collect a check..
This is a freebie for Democrats. Newsom gets to name her replacement, and he is also a Democrat. There is no rational reason for any Democrat to want Feinstein to stay. Republicans may want Feinstein to stay though. Her being there really highlights how geriatric the Dems are.

Moderate Democrats may want her to stay given that Newsom will no doubt replace her with someone who checks every identity box possible. He'll find a candidate that makes Sam Brinton look like a southern conservative.

Santos was a sneaky liar that got a few thousand votes. Feinstein is in the throws of dementia and a known terrible senator that got millions of votes.
It's not to excuse the stupidity of New Yorkers, but electing Santos wasn't on the scale of electing Feinstein.
