Sounds like to me that some idiot in logistics need to better ALLOCUTE their personnel and resources............

Cook shortage at Army post shutters some mess halls, leaving hungry soldiers scrambling: report

Fort Cavazos, previously known as Fort Hood, is facing a shortage of Army cooks

An Army installation in Texas has been struggling to put food on the table for its soldiers for months as the base faces a shortage of cooks to staff its dining facilities.

Fort Cavazos, Texas, previously known as Fort Hood, has struggled to provide its junior enlisted troops with meals for months, with the base only opening two of its 10 major dining facilities for much of the summer and with limited times, according to a report Tuesday from Military.com.

That's wild. Inexcusable really.
A long time ago, when the company I was working for was doing inventory, and we had 40 or 50 people in that effort, I was sent to the local Burger King in the middle of town to get 47 whoppers and 32 fish filet sandwiches to feed the crew.

I placed my order, and the girl behind the counter, who had obviously had a very long day, punched my order into the cash register, looked up at me and said, "For here or to go?"
Meh.

Looks like the Army is simply having the exact same problems as the rest of the country in the wake of Covid.
Staffing issues are rampant everywhere.

The whole story is about one base closing a few mess halls and sending soldiers 30 minutes to another mess hall or off campus with meal vouchers at restaurants. Plus one other base with even fewer issues.

Nothing burger.

Train more recruits to cook in the next incoming class.
Fixed.

Please tell me you ordered them with no mayo.  Otherwise, gross!
