She's trying to say he never started for the Chiefs.

But she said he never "played" as a Chief. Which in fact, he did.

She's wrong. Everybody else is right.

Can we stop now. Good grief.

I just want to know when he played in a game and nobody answered the question.

Yes they did.

Quote:Last week. He went 7-9 for 55 yards. He threw 1 interception and was sacked once.

Did I do that right?

Somebody just didn't read the answer.

He played in the last preseason game for......wait for it.....the Chiefs.
Don't be mean to her (him)!

Aaron Murray was released by the Chiefs today.    I think there's a good chance he gets claimed off waivers.    If Murray goes through waivers,  he very likely will be on an NFL P.S. soon.

The Chiefs wanted to trade him. That does not look like they want to put him on the practice squad.

Not a surprise. He was buried deep on the depth chart.

He also had a torn ACL.

The Chiefs don't have anything close to a Franchise QB but their depth at the position is very good.

Who are the backups?

Nick Foles,  Kevin Hogan,  and Tyler Bray.    It will be hard for the Chiefs or any team to keep 4 QBs.   Many teams don't even keep 3 on their 53 man roster.

Nick Foles is a keeper. He was good in Philadelphia with Andy Reid.

I think it is a big risk to only keep two quarterbacks. Look at what happened to the teams in Texas last year to see why.

They will stash Hogan on the PS I guess. Bray is interesting. I was never impressed in college but he's hung on for a few years.
Quote:Lol Murray sucks, I remember people on this board wanted to pick him in the 1st or 2nd round, I told them he would never be any good in the NFL

As it turned out,  Kevin Hogan was indeed released by the Chiefs.   My guess is he probably won't be claimed off waivers.   If that's the case,  the most likely outcome is he ends up on the Chiefs P.S.

It wouldn't surprise me though if another team that's planning on carrying 2 QBs losing their # 3 QB to another team in the claim process,  Hogan ends up with them.  Because Stanford uses a Pro style Offense,  Hogan should be more equipped to function sooner in another NFL Offense than most rookie QBs that are already changing teams.
Aaron Murray wasn't claimed off waivers:

Though there are exceptions,   most of the time QBs that get released in the cutdown to 53 don't get claimed off waivers because of the difficulty in adjusting to a new system quickly.

As it  turned out,  Murray signed a P.S. contract with the Cardinals.   Getting to learn under Bruce Arians,  after learning under Andy Reid can only help Murray moving forward.

Kevin Hogan ended up signing with the Browns P.S.   Working with Hue Jackson should help Hogan moving forward:

Browns Add to Practice Squad: The Browns have signed OL Anthony Fabiano, QB Kevin Hogan, DB Ed Reynolds and DL Gabe Wright to the practice squad.
