Homelessness in my county is caused by too much demand and not enough supply because folks are being priced out of their current living situation whether they're renting apartments or homes, or interest rates have sent their mortgage payments soaring. 

We have a lot of working homeless here and it's tragic.

We are saying the same thing.
It's the folks who were in the town already who become homeless.  New people drive up the rent price, and the existing people are displaced. That's how it happens. Usually.
