That is probably a bit less than they did in many games last year. So - for those scrambling to blame Press Taylor for everything, I guess they could lament he calls inside runs a few times more per game than Doug did, LOL. (it's like the only part of our game working, but, whatever)
They do have some creative blocking dialed up for the inside stuff at times, but unfortunately it seems to be just one more thing for this offensive line to screw up. ETN has been making lemonade of the blocking lemons he was saddled with.
LOL, you love your hyperbole, don't ya?
According to PFF, the run blocking has actually been pretty good. Just something to chew on while you are widdling the next straw man you'll throw my way.
I'm not sure why it's such an offense to you to point out that running 1st down on every single down in the first half isn't the best strategy, to the point of resorting to insults and making up false assertions. I would just assume most football fans realize that being predictable on offense isn't the best strategy... I mean, even though ETN was doing a great job with the plays he was asked to run, we ended the first half with 0 points... I would say that being predictable helped contribute to our ineffectiveness. Yes, the drops also killed us. But the predictability didn't help, either.
Bro, seriously, are you [BLEEP] kidding me? You've [BLEEP] posted about Press Taylor non-stop for a week. This whole thread is a Press Taylor Sucks thread.
if Cam Robinson is at LT, i would run Etienne off tackle to the left with a pulling guard/tight end to kick out the edge.
Otherwise I'd run power behind Scherff on the right side. then after the Oline gets in rhythm, i would play action fake and try and hit a bomb down the sideline to Ridley or Engram on a seam route.
The lack of play action and run fakes so far this season is concerning to me; not sure if they just dont trust the Oline enough to hold up long enough to sell it or what but its just weird to see us not try and slow the rush with some play action.
But on 1st and Goal from the 1 Yard Line, we don't run ETN !!! Now, isn't that ironic. HA !!!

I’ve always been a cam fan even when some people wanted to move on. Now, I think most people realize we need him back and playing well. Ben is not it at LG. He’s bringing the entire line down. Jags need to look at making some adjustments on the o line if they continue to have pass protection struggles.
First play against Atlanta....an eight yard out to Ridley.

Dude, I get it. Run on 1st down was the Jagaurs game plan from like 2007 to 2021. But that type of play calling just doesn't work anymore unless the rusher is the QB on an RPO.
But this isn't the 90s and we don't have an RPO QB...
Trying to just explain things to these MODs is apparently like saying that the Earth is Round.... It's crazy how they are attacking me like I'm the crazy one.
Oh wait. NO... I am crazy. But what I'm saying here isn't so much...

The irony
They passed 5 times on 1st down in the first half, Einstein
Oh, yet another insult. What's funnier is that you're still trying to hang your hat on how well the play calling is.
So I went back and looked. And hey, einstein, it was actually only 4 pass plays on first down. Maybe learn how to count to 4 before you call someone an Einstien!!!
LMAO! You can't even count correctly, and yet you think you are holier than everyone!!! It's getting pathetic!
Also, I'm sure you know that one of the passing downs was NOT 1st and 10, but 1st and 5. I'm giving you that one, but I really shouldn't. On first and 10 we only passed 3 times. And of the 3 times we passed on 3rd and 10, it was mainly at the end of a quarter or end of the half.
All the rest of our 1st downs, which there were 12, we ran it 9 times. 9 times run up between the hashes from shotgun, to ETN. And again, all the pass plays were because the quarter or the half was ending. So if the clock is running and we're not in hurry up, we were running it on 1st and 10. That's what I said. And the plays point that out.
Even with my explanation, your inability to count is hilarious!!!
You calling me a genius, and you can't even count to 4 without adding a phantom passing play. I decided do break it down for you in colors, so maybe you can figure out the count. The green colors mean its a ground play. You know. Green for Grass....
The blue colors for passing plays. You know? How that weird looking brown thing flies in the air. The air, like blue skies? Get it?

Count the blue ones, bro... You can include the black one if you want. But if you look at the Title of the Thread, it's 1st and 10.... But I know, remembering stuff can be hard for Einsteins like you and me... So I guess I could forgive you that. Though, I know you'd never give me any leeway, based on how disingenious you've been this whole discussion. Bless your heart.
And again, I just want to point out that the only 3 times on 1st and 10 that we actually threw the ball was based on end of Quarter or end of Half, which is situational. But on field position and in the heart of the game, the game plan was 1st and 10, shotgun, 11 formation, handoff to ETN.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. I hope some of you, (specifically New Yorkers that apparently have a hard time counting) have learned something.

You're triggered, dude.
Stop taking it so personally.
People aren't always friendly on the internet when you go off on ill informed tangents about sports.
But congratulations on figuring out you were full of [BLEEP] when you said we ran it on every first down in the half.
HAHAHA
Next time, maybe put together your little TED talk before talking out of your backside.
Einstein
You have my sincere apologies for incorrectly citing 5 throws instead of 4.
Now - moving on -
Just to keep a tally of all the trash in your post:
- I never complimented the play calling - I said I'd have changed 3 or 4 plays in each game so far - I stated very clearly (repeatedly for your slow uptake) that you're being silly acting like all of the horrible mistakes by the players had anything to do with the plays called or who called them - and you know that I said that - but you're being "disingenuous"
- Running ETN is still a great strategy given our pass protection and execution by receivers - and I hope they drive you crazy by running 30 times in London on Sunday
- Lastly - I'm not from New York - born and raised in Duval County and moved back there after 14 years working in NYC (which was when I created the account and the name)
Have you given up on your ridiculous story that we are playing a different scheme yet?

I provided every 1st down and 10 from Sunday. I even gave him the 1st and 5, which was clearly not a part of my post. But I gave it to him, because I am a good dude. I'm not disingenous. I don't argue in bad faith.
And even with that 1st and five play, there was not 5 pass plays on 1st and 10 in the first half.
And yet he's allowed to attack me and question my intelligence? Yet he can't count? Well, whatever. I'm sure he'll continue to attack me. But I won't break the rules of the forum. But I will continue to call him out when he's being mean or inappropriate.

I don't disagree, but you have to consider this 5 or 6 targets each week serve as an extension of the run and are almost always outside.
So you're looking at 9 or 10 runs inside the tackles - 5 or 6 outside + 5 or 6 targets outside.
It's not exactly lopsided.
I'd be good with more of those stretch play styled outside zone runs. ETN is good at finding a crease with those.
Although the KC defense shut those down when we tried them, so maybe what you saw Sunday reflected some hesitancy to call them due to the prior week's failure to create creases.
Something like a stetch is what i mean, i hate how when we line up for a run its either a shotgun handoff up the middle or under center up the middle. Makes it so easy to defend i feel. Not a big fan of toss plays or reverses
