Ahhhh..good to be back. Let’s finish the second half of the season strong.

Jaguars are 2-4 vs the 49ers all-time. The Jaguars won their first 2 meetings and haven’t beat them since. The last time the Jaguars beat the 49ers was back in 2005, where the Jaguars won 10-9.

From 2020 to 2021 the Jaguars won a total 4 regular-season games. From 2022 to 2023 the Jaguars have racked up 15 regular-season wins.

The 49ers are coming to town for a ‘possible’ Super Bowl preview. Teams are starting to figure out Brock Purdy’s weaknesses and hopefully the Jaguars can too.

YOUR Jacksonville Jaguars are off to their 2nd best start in team history. Coach Doug Pedersen is 15-10 in the regular season since taking over in 2022 and since week 9 of 2022, he’s won 14 games with 5 losses (including playoffs).

Trevor Lawrence is set to start his 43rd game, which is 1 game behind Byron Leftwich. Since being drafted #1 by Jacksonville, Lawrence has 18 regular-season wins, and he needs 7 more to be 3rd all-time in franchise history behind Mark Brunell (63) and David Garrard (39).

Lawrence is having his most accurate passing season with a completion percentage of 68.3% and he’s started every game of his career.

Offensive MVP Travis Etienne is also having his best year and he’s started every game since taking over for James Robinson. He has 178 touches with 0 fumbles and has scored 8 touchdowns. He could break the franchise single-season touchdown record set by Fred Taylor back in his rookie year in 1998 (17), along with some other franchise single-season records.

Etienne could become just the 11th player in Jaguars Franchise History to score 10 or more touchdowns in a single-season. Here is a list of Jaguars that have score 10 or more touchdowns in a season:

1. James Stewart
2. Fred Taylor
3. Stacey Mack
4. Reggie Williams
5. Maurice Jones-Drew
6. Marcedes Lewis
7. Allen Robinson
8. Allen Hurns
9. Leonard Fournette
10. James Robinson

Etienne needs 299 receiving yards to break the Jaguars single-season record by a RB for yards receiving, which was set by Maurice Jones-Drew in 2011. He needs 417 rushing yards to have back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons.

Evan Engram is leading the team in receptions with 51. Here is a list of Jaguars TE with their most receptions through the first 8 games of the season:

1. 2023 Evan Engram - 51
2. 2022 Evan Engram - 32
3. 2000 Kyle  Brady  - 31

Engram is having his best season in a Jaguars uniform and he’s on pace to shatter his own single-season franchise record for receptions by a TE. Engram has 5 or more receptions in every game this season, except for the Buffalo game in which he had 4 catches.

Engram could also set the franchise single-season record for first downs by a TE, which is was set by Kyle Brady with 39. Engram currently has 19 first downs on the year.

WR Christian Kirk needs 480 receiving yards to have back-to-back seasons of 1,000 yards. Ridley needs 549 yards to have what would be his 2nd season of 1,000 of his career. If Kirk and Ridley can each get to the 1,000 yard mark, it will mark just the 3rd set of Wide Receivers to have 1,000 yards each in a single-season, joining receiver tandems Jimmy Smith/Keenan McCardell and Allen Robinson/Allen Hurns.

If Engram, Etienne, Ridley, and Kirk each gain 1,000 yards in 2023 it will be the first time in franchise history that 4 Jaguar players reach that mark.

The Jaguars Franchise needs just 5 more regular-season wins in order to reach the 200 WINS mark.

The 49ers are favored by 3.

**Weather Report: High of 68 and cloudy with a 10% chance of rain.

Dear Abby,

I'm faced with a dilemma. As of 1:24 this morning, we became grandparents again. Do we forego attending the game to visit our newest family member at the hospital? Or do we visit after the game?

Thank you,

Homebiscuit from Duuuvalll

If it's going to be anything like the Giants or Cowboys game last season, which I think it will be, it's going to be packed and good parking is going to get scarce early.
Let’s go JJ’s and our Hope defense.

Brilliant! Thank you Cleat...er, Abby!
My buddy lives in Reno and I was going to have him put $100 on the Jags at +3 (that’s where his casino has the odds).  But I chickened out.  Hopefully I made a bad decision.   Big Grin

answer is easy, you go vist the family member. Family is always more  important  even  if your team is 8-0,10-0,what ever record is Family is always more important then a football game.

Go be with your family first and then the game. Then back to the hospital after the game.

Bring her some breakfast.
Harrison vs Bosa scares me. We have to stop the run on defense first and foremost

Chip him with Strange here and there. Get Lawrence rolling out a little bit. I hope the first two or three play calls offensively is a designed screen over his head or a QB draw with Lawrence actually.

Naturally. They'll get it done though. I think it might be a little rough going, akin to the Buffalo game but I think our defense will get after their offense just as much and we'll end up winning by 14+ today.
