(12-19-2023, 06:21 PM)OzJohnnie Wrote: [ -> ]Nice cope, bro.  I notice you don’t provide a clip of the entire snap as we saw live on TV.  The overhead shot does not include the entire snap.  Additionally, it doesn’t include the audio where the line is looking back at TL confused and Lawrence can be clearly heard yelling, “We’re good!   We’re good!  Hut, hut, hut!”

Next thing we know, you’ll graduate from Jim “You guys don’t know what we want to do” Mora to Denny “They are who we thought they were” Green.

He should have called a time out.  Rather than panicking with two seconds on the snap clock, he should have realised that the line did not understand his called out assignments and that standing with his back to the goal line and three timeouts still on the board, it was time to use one.  Instead, the linemen were confused over who TL wanted blocking who, Baltimore came running through every gap and TL was concussed with an intentional grounding (again - he has a habit).

The guy cannot read a play before the snap.  He’s not a general.  He’s just a position player.  Not good enough for NFL QB.

Sorry, I had extended a level of credit to you that we were operating on the same level, but I can see now that we're not and that you either lack some basic understanding or are willfully ignoring the obvious.  Do you know what a stunt is?  Are you aware that QBs (who can't possibly know that a defensive player is going to stunt) don't call out that a defensive lineman is going to stunt pre-snap to their offensive line?

Once we're operating on the same understanding there, it becomes clear you don't need anything else audio or visual wise to know the stunt is what sprung Madubuike who was the defensive end who made the play to slam Trevor to the ground.  Nothing Trevor said or did pre-snap contributed to Madubuike breaking through which was the [BLEEP] premise of your post.  All offensive linemen were correctly engaging the person they should have been engaging until a combination of Madubuike getting great push and leverage on Scherff and the other defender stunted around him which caused Scherff to disengage to the stunting player leaving Madubuike to Fortner who had already been beaten because he didn't immediately recognize it.  There was no visible confusion pre-snap or immediately after the snap (which is your premise).  All o-linemen initially correctly engaged the pass rusher they were supposed to.  It's the o-line's responsibility to diagnose the stunt on the fly, not the QBs.  There are legitimate criticisms to levy at Trevor, no doubt, but the example you attempt to paint here is taking liberties with the unknowable, but again, your posting history and timing suggest taking liberties with the unknowable is par for the course.

The "we're good we're good" line could have easily been an acknowledgement (and probably was) that there were no blitzers coming (Do you know what a blitz is?) and that no one needed to pick up anyone extra specifically.  It was 4 defensive linemen that beat 5 offensive linemen (because Madubuike is good and because of the stunt and also because Fortner and maybe even Scherff are bad).  The other defenders at the line pre-snap dropped into coverage.  But that interpretation would be Trevor reading the defense properly pre-snap and we can't have that now can we?  Hence, you don't know and you never will.

Wait, the QB doesn't call the Mike?  Doesn't, as a result, set blocking assignments?  Are you sure you actually know this game?  Watch the tape.  TL points and calls the Mike, multiple linemen turn and look back appearing not to understand the call, TL then shouts, "We're good!  We're good!  Hut!"  And blocking assignments are missed everywhere.  Once again, with less than five seconds on the clock, the linemen uncertain of their assignments, TL's back on the goalline and three time outs in the bank... TL should have stepped away and called time rather than rushing to snap with two seconds on the play clock.

As to your second paragraph... are you a Jim Mora fan or not?  Now you know exactly the assignments and their execution?  I guess when it supports your premise all is fair game.  But as you know nothing TL called out before the snap caused confusion, you must be rewatching the play.  Please post the entire snap and end the issue.

Now, answer this.  Who was the Mike?

Not sure we will find out if he's playing until Friday.

If he practices Friday, I think he plays.

If not, it'll be Beathard.
Wednesday will tell us where he is at in the protocol. If he isn't cleared for football exercises for 30 mins, he most likely won't be playing. I don't see them advancing more than 1 phase per day.

He needs to be in phase 3 on Wednesday and then phase 4 by Friday practice. Then get doctors to sign-off Friday night or Saturday.

Being that it's his first concussion (that I'm aware of) and he was able to finish the game, I could see him being cleared pretty quickly

Hope it was mild and you are right that he'll be back this week. Just saw where C.J. Stroud is very likely to be out again and I believe this was his first concussion. Guess it will just depend on how bad his symptoms were. The team needs to be very cautious about playing him- better they lose this game than risk serious injury.
Anybody heard anything
I’m thinking he is trending toward missing this game.

Doug's pretty mum about it. We won't know until Saturday more than likely. They're saying Stroud may not even be back this Sunday for their next game. Concussions are tricky.
I think he plays
Has anyone gone into the protocol and then played the following week the season?

I think I heard yesterday on the radio there was one occurrence of a QB playing after hitting concussion protocol. I want to say it was Brock Purdy for some reason.

Head injuries are so hard to really tell. Stroud's hit was significantly more violent though, he couldn't even get himself off the ground. Just from the severity of the hit I'm not surprised about Stroud at all.

Yeah Brock had one mid-game. Finished the game, entered protocol after like Trevor, and played the following week. Was cleared on Saturday I believe

Trevor was in the building today. Stroud looks to have a really bad one.
I’m going Sunday so I’m selfish and hope Trevor plays. Watching CJ surrounded by Bucs fans…ugh

Thanks for that info. Gives me some hope.
We can only hope..... it would be good to see him start and then turn over to Beathard after we get the lead.

Bodes well for him playing this Sunday. I looked at Purdy's concussion against the Vikings just now. His occurred during a QB sneak play and it looks like he took it a little bit more directly and to the crown of the helmet.

Stroud's and Lawrence's were pretty bad though. Getting whipped to the ground like that and hitting your head hard doesn't feel good. I had an incident about eleven years ago.

I was visiting my Mom and Dad's on gameday one Sunday, I brought my then puppy over at the time (still have him, he's an old man now), I was playing with him and he snipped me pretty good on my finger, deep enough to where it wouldn't stop bleeding. Long story short, I started running cold water over it in my Mom's kitchen sink.

From there, felt a cold rush, a chill begin to creep up my arm and then I blacked out. I fell backwards, landed on the back of my head on the kitchen tile. I don't remember much after that. I was out for a few seconds. My younger brother was freaking out, he told me later I was having a seizure, my Dad jumped out of the shower to slap me a few times on the face to wake me up.

I felt good though while I was out. Felt like I was on a cloud and floating down the Nile River to be honest with you. LOL. My Dad told me not to take a nap or fall asleep. I just laid on the couch and he kept making sure I didn't pass out. I was fine though, able to leave for home a few hours later after the game.

But, those head injuries are tricky. Have a ton of respect for these players and fighters.
Hell maybe Beathard pulls a drew lock
