NYC high school students forced into remote learning as 2,000 migrants sheltered in school instead

The move sparked anger from parents and local politicians

Nearly 2,000 migrants being sheltered in a tent shelter in New York City are being transferred to a nearby high school, where the students will have to pivot to remote learning due to the disruption it is causing – sparking outrage from residents and local politicians.

People are just numb now to the ineptness of this administration.

Incredibly, they're not even astute enough to realize this "solution" is the proverbial finger in the dike.  Where do you put the next 2,000?  Displace another school student body?

Ignoring the root cause while wringing their hands and pleading for Federal money isn't the answer.

The solution is always placing a finger in the dyke.
Biden has asked for increased authority to quickly send people back.
The House has passed HR 2 on party lines. This bill actually reduces the President's authority in this area but none the less might help solve the problem by making it clear that border patrol is simply supposed to detain and then remove people and not parole them.
The Senate has ignored HR 2 and members of both parties are working on their own bill. The House has promised not to consider what the Senate passes, even though they haven't passed it yet.
Blame Congress. Both parties in Congress. This one's not Biden's fault.

This is 2023, man.  Obtain clear and enthusiastic permission first.
The Biden administration affected the atmosphere of come one, come all. You know, ‘the border is closed (wink, wink)’. Joe Biden and his minions are entirely responsible for the record breaking illegal immigration since he’s been in office. Ask the Border Czar, she knows. What a joke.

Actually, during his 2016 campaign, Biden lashed out about any notion of a closed border, which gave foreigners a belief that the border was open to immigration. While it is to a certain extent, he really implied it was open to all.  This was clearly a miscalculation on his behalf and has not been addressed, and may have worsened by placing Kamala in a key role to resolve the border issues.

I think the good thing about some of us is that we're willing and able to recognize mistakes of our administration, whereas, many people cannot clearly see mistakes of the politician that they voted for or support.

Why risk losing another press secretary?

If we hope to ever bring this country back from its political polarization, this is what we all must do. Unfortunately, most either attempt to equivocate with talking points or, more commonly, stay away from the conversation altogether because they don’t want to admit fault with their party’s position.

I’m guilty of this myself, however, I have leveled criticisms at Republicans as well. We all need to step up and start holding politicians and policy makers accountable because the divisiveness of strict party lines is what empowers them.
