Yes. We are the Jaguars. Cleveland South. The Football and real life version of Major League's Cleveland Indians. ARob is also mouthing off.
Clown show
He wants to get one more big payday before he's set to retire. Probably wants something close to what Whitworth received this off-season. It is what it is. He's a short term answer though regardless. We could be looking at his future replacement by RD2 or RD3. I've seen Bolles mocked to us now at 35. I find it hard to believe he'd slip out of RD1 and make it past the Cowboys with Doug Free retiring this year but we'll see.

Meet Coughlin
They wont give in.  He can hold out and not play this year and earn 0.  Everyone will be clamoring for a 33 year old tackle that sat out a year!

I suspect they will come up with a deal because right now, there aren't a whole lot of other options available to them at the LT position.

Our offseasons have become absolutely loathsome.

(And not because of what's actually happening in the offseason.)

A-Rob's comments were actually encouraging. I was in the group that thought he might not be happy here, would just want to play out his contract, and go elsewhere, but that's not the case. I think if the money's right, he'd be fine here.

I hope that deal includes mostly incentives, not guaranteed money.
He's making 8-9 million a year, he's not going to sit out this year.  They wont make any sort of deal with him.  These should be the last two years on his contract.  He can't stay healthy as it is, why restructure so he can make more money?

He will show up and he will play.  I can't imagine them offering him another dime.

He is due 18 million or so over the next two years. NONE of it guaranteed. I imagine that is what he wants addressed. Guaranteed money.

Why?  Are you stroking the checks?

If they have to give up some guarantees to placate him, so be it.  That can also include incentives as part of the deal.  I don't think the team would guarantee the majority of the deal based on his injury history in recent years, but I do think they'd be willing to give up some guaranteed money to get past this and start preparing for the season.

No doubt, and with the amount of resources this team has available, whatever he's asking for would be peanuts.  One thing this team does well is structure contracts in a way to avoid being strapped down the road.  I wouldn't expect to see them suddenly forget how to work a deal.
