Because Baalke did great last year with so many low draft picks...
If Mitchell or Thomas Jr is still on the board at 23, I'm good with the trade.
My theory is that they are targeting Arnold and think he will last given who else is on the board.

It's not a bad trade for 6 spots but you know Baalke won't use that extra ammo to move up this year or next.
Unless he's trying to do what he did last year by being cute and hoping he could trade off a bunch of lower picks for something higher. No one wanted them.
They're seeing offense going high so the odds are his defensive guy is there at 23...
