Former Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert will play sometime tonight as the San Francisco 49ers host the Green Bay Packers. Kickoff is at 10:00 ET, but like last night NFLN will start showing it at 11:00. As the third preseason game, it should be fun to watch because the starters are out a long time. GO PACKERS!

This doesn't seem official...

LOL Making the Cowboys/Seahawks thread official did not help much.
San Fran will be picking top 5 in 2017
Why do you say that?

No coach, no QB, withering defense, I've seen this story play out before, it spells top 5 pick in 2017
You don't know what you are talking about. This is a game thread.

Anyone have any insight on how the Packers looked seeing as that's semi-relevant?

As far as SF goes, they will be drafting very high next year. Having to play Seattle, Arizona, and LA twice puts them at 0-6/1-5.

Why did you say this?
Aaron Rogers looked like he's ready to roll. He's gonna be a really tough beat in week 1, regardless who's playing WR for them. I was thinking we had that game in the bag, but if we win it's gonna be really close bc Rogers is as good as it gets.

Aaron Rodger is always ready to roll and really tough for anyone to beat. He also was pulled long before NFLN starting showing the game.

It does make a difference who Rodgers throws to. That was obvious every week in 2015.

I'm really excited that you're back. It's gonna be an interesting ride with you back on board.
I thought the packers looked sluggish against a horrible 9ers team. I feel bad for the 9ers as its my wifes team and man...they are going to be horrible.

Gabbert is gonna be a force in Chip Kelly's offense.

He did not play very well against the Packers, but Colin Kaepernick was worse.
Gabbert is going to save that franchise by helping to deliver what will likely be the 1st or 2nd pick in the draft. Browns will be the other.

A nightmare scenario for 49ers fans would be the team gets the 1st or 2nd pick in the 2017 Draft,  the team drafts a QB,   Chip Kelly wears out his welcome a year or two from now,  and the QB that they drafted isn't a good fit for a more conventional NFL Offense that's installed under the next HC.    This doesn't seem far fetched.

I thought they looked sluggish and Rodgers was running for his life already.
Kepernick makes it easy to pull for Blaine Gabbert.
