I just think he was his guy meaning he was likely the main person vouching for Maason Smith. Doesn't mean he forced it.

The future is yet to be written. I can say in the past the best D-line we had was when we had Stroud and Henderson both very large guys.

I finally got around to watching Episode 1 which was somewhat interesting.  I came to the conclusion that I would not want to be a scout for a team.  It just looks like it's so mundane to the point where it would get boring.  My hat is off to the guys that do that job and I hope that they get paid well.
