This is something right out of a communist dictators playbook. Democrats are already indoctrinating our kids through the "education" system now but.........

New York Democrat congressional candidate suggests MAGA supporters go to 're-education camp'

Democrat candidate Paula Collins is running against GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik for New York's 21st congressional district

The New York Democratic congressional candidate running against GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik suggested "MAGA" supporters should attend a "re-education camp" after the 2024 election — even if Democrats see a "resounding blue wave."

Paula Collins, who is running against Stefanik, R-N.Y., in New York’s 21st congressional district, made the comments during a public Zoom Townhall this week, where she appeared to admit that "re-education" would be controversial.

Just keep feeding them rope, sit back and enjoy the show lolol
I'll play along. Who is hosting and running these camps?
Yeah, she didn't say that

She said voters and the current crop of lawmakers need civics lessons - which "sounds like" a re-education camp" and "we don't want to call it that."
She was talking specifically about how her political opponent doesn't understand the NY state court system and neither do voters supporting that candidate. Which is accurate.

Just more Rupert Murdoch bull [BLEEP]. Y'all lap it up though.
LOL

She's 100% correct - the mass infestation of willful ignorance due to Murdoch and Trump convincing everyone that it is OK to adopt "alternate facts" has absolutely poisoned America. The dumbing down is nearly complete.

You clowns love to vilify Soros for funding leftist campaigns and organizations.
Murdoch is the right wing counterpart.
Constantly stirring the pot of bull [BLEEP] and propagandist poison.
And the weakest minds just love it.
"Even if we were to have a resounding blue wave come through, as many of us would like, putting it all back together again after we’ve gone through this MAGA nightmare and re-educating basically, which, that sounds like a rather, a re-education camp. I don’t think we really want call it that... I’m sure we can find another way to phrase it."

She said it. Now, she sugar-coated it by calling it civics education, which used to be common in school until our education departments (largely democratic) removed it. I'm sure she's going to really get out there and support the constitution. Starting with the 2nd amendment and free speech.

In this thread, Murdoch can be vilified, but Soros is a bogeyman. The weakest minds, he says...

I guess bleeding heart lefties can also adopt "Alternate Facts". We saw where their form of "reeducation" has landed this country in predominately left leaning states. The answer resides within the middle. We're never going to get what we need as a country as long as both parties are corrupted and poisoned with extremism and globalist ideology and money.

This is the problem we have as a society. It's just a bummer, because I do find myself as a centrist ideally, but, I have to take a side every four years. Because there's no third party alternative. It's been made very clear though, since 2016, that, Trump is the only alternative we have realistically to get somewhat of a four year respite as a country.

After this campaign? Which can still go either way. I just don't know anymore. Can't trust the left. Can't trust the right. Both have too much staying power to enable a third party to form itself and crop up from underneath their corrupted layers of soil. It's just frustrating. I know I am not supposed to say the quiet part out loud, but, it needs to be said more often.

We're going to have to take this country back at some point, and it may go beyond just the voting booth. I know, nobody wants to hear that. However, it just feels like we're entering an Age of Aggression and it's only a matter of time before this powder keg goes "POP".

This is what happens when you let your mind, body and soul turn to dog [BLEEP] because of hate. This is someone who hates Trump so much, that he hates you as well for voting for him. His mind is diseased and all around seems like a trash human being for it.

These people are not well. They're sick in the head and just horrible people all around. All because of his Trump hate..

Your mind is even weaker than I thought if you're unable to reasonably interpret her comments in context.

What's there to interpret there, bub? Since you're so knowledgeable and know what she's saying. Decode it then. To me, it's pretty blatant what she's saying.

"MAGA Nightmare", "re-educating", "sounds like a re-education camp", "I'm sure we can find another way to phrase it". I mean, are you dense, bub?

This is the equivalent of me lying or dumbing down to my four year old son when I want him to be a good boy and eat his vegetables.

"You're eating broccoli and carrots for dinner tonight"
"No, I want potatoes and chicken nuggets"
"Okay, you can have potatoes and chicken nuggets"
*Proceeds to warm up broccoli based tater tots and vegetable based "dinosaur" nuggets*

It's the same [BLEEP] thing man. Take your blinders off. Or are you too far gone not to see everything for what it is? Don't be that guy. You're too smart for that...

Blah, blah, blah. You live for ad hominem. Your problem (and Mikeys and Martys and everyone else that moonlights as political pundits) is that you're too busy gobbling up whatever is put in front to taste any of that [BLEEP]. Then you happily yak it up on anyone else that doesn't want to eat it.

I don't care what she says. There is a long enough track record by democrats for even the most partisan liberal to question what she means when she talks about re-education. Only a simpleton stops at her mention of civics without putting in in context. We know why kids don't know about civics. Democrats removed it from the classrooms and destroyed our education system. Just like we know the left doesn't care about states' rights, and hasn't since the 70's. You really believe America just needs a lesson on the sovereignty of state courts? That's what you think she believes? That's the load of [BLEEP] you expect me to eat? Get the [BLEEP] out of here. You couldn't make it one post in the DeSantis threat without mentioning he stacked the courts.
This is the chick that wants you in a re-education camp..

Looks like my neighbor, Greg..
Her mentioning civics is akin to a Republican talking about diversity.

Nah

She used a poor choice of words and immediately back-pedaled it.

She's clearly talking about the need for new lawmakers and their constituents to understand the legal process - which is valid given all of the misinterpretations of recent legal proceedings coming from elected officials -  but you are way more interested in buying the spin on her comments than looking for the intent.

Have fun with that.
Don't believe what they tell you!!!!

Way to miss all the points.

Her comment was stupidly worded - but she's right that the MAGA movement lacks understanding of the processes we live by in America.  The problem she's missing is that you can't educate the willfully ignorant. If they just adopt lies versus the letter of the law, you can't "re-educate" them.

The DeSantis thing is funny.
I didn't say he stacked the court. It's been stacked by Republican gov's term after term. But of course you didn't read carefully enough to see how I phrased it.

Riiiiiight. So when a lefty says something, it's back pedaling, don't take it literal, don't read the tea leaves, etc.

But, when a righty says something we're supposed to get all uptight and decipher what they said like it's the DaVinci Code. Yeah, ok, have fun with that, with your blinders on.

How many times did you lap up the media taking Trump's words out of context? Bet you were the first one to drum up fear amongst your camp with the "bloodbath" comment he made in reference to China attempting to flood the manufacturing market through Mexico to further [BLEEP] us over in that industry.

If I wanted to spin every stupid comment Trump made, I'd be on here 25 hours a day.

I only bother with the really stupid stuff. And I even ignore a healthy portion of that subset.
(I wasn't even aware of the bloodbath comment you referenced)

I definitely don't bother with the dumb [BLEEP] that MAGA congressional candidates spout all the time, which would be most akin to what we are discussing here.

But hey, if you think this lady's dumb comment is worthy of outrage, have at it.
 Seems pretty innocuous to me.
Do we actually think this campaigning gaff by a Cannabis attorney running for a congressional seat has any actual bearing on our real lives or future policy??

I know I don't think her little speech means a damn thing.
Just something else  to get fake mad about apparently.

I don't find it worthy of outrage. I just find it worthy of being called out, as hypocrisy and double standards run amuck in this quagmire we refer to as the "Government". It does seem like common rhetoric though from left field.

Our college campuses are loaded with a bunch of dumbfounded dip [BLEEP] now and a lot of it has to do with "counter culture" movements that have pretty much all but guaranteed the destruction of what made this country a pillar of hope for decades.

The "holier than thou, you better use my pronouns" crowd thinks they know what's best when they have been brainwashed into no longer using their critical thinking caps.

I get it. Everything is cyclical here. Bible Thumpers bred Rebellious Hearts decades ago and now we're seeing an advanced and stupefied era of the same beliefs only worse because Mommy and Daddy turned them over to the Government and their Tablets and Smartphones to raise them.

People should be mad though. People should be upset. The majority is just not aiming their frustrations at that right places...

We all have a common enemy here working against us. Just need to meet in the middle, call it for what it is and get away from this left Vs. right [BLEEP]. It's been hijacking generation after generation after generation. This is why we keep seeing the same arguments and laws being brought up, removed, brought up, removed, etc.

No real progress. It sucks. And it shows.

With you on the red text.

It sucks. As much as I may despise the orange one, I despise the way we all get screwed by the current system giving us crap alternatives to choose between even more.

The big money influencing this crap loves the divisiveness it breeds. Easier to manipulate.
