Maybe that was the urgency that Jerruh was talking about.
If the Cowboys are indeed prepping Lance for a future role, it could be a major shift. It would make sense if they’re trying to ensure a smooth transition when the time comes.

I've heard that based on the current market of young guys in the 55m APY range, 60 would be the expectation for Dak. I don't fault Jerruh one iota for not wanting to do that deal.
Not saying that Lance is the future, but at least helps to have a safety net in place.
