The Patriots are irrelevant again. It's going to take a while for that to sink in with their fans and sportswriters.
Agreed because at least to my well lubed eyes Jones was clearly better than Beathard.
I think Beathard will get cut and they are just giving him opportunity to put some pre-season work on tape to help him get picked up elsewhere.
From a site on which fans write stories, that sound exactly like something many here would post.
I wouldn't be surprised if Jones gets some time playing with the second string next game.
In the writers defense, the Jags stole there "QB of the future."

That is a very salty article lol

Yep. This isn't the Brady/Belichik era any more.
Don't give that article the clicks imo. That's all they want.
Whole article is based off of Beathard being the first QB to play after Lawrence...in the first preseason game.
As if that means anything.

Patriots fans are watching the latest Mac Jones update with glee as his Jacksonville Jaguars career gets off to an ugly start.
....and unfortunately, every doof who clicks the link above gives them pageviews to reinforce their business model. Got me, too.
Wonder if anyone told this dingleberry about the plight of Blaine Gabbert, another first-round QB who was "only worth a sixth-round pick to the rest of the league". Dude found his niche and has multiple rings.
I wonder what this sack wrote about N'Keal Harry. Think he was anywhere near as critical?
I also like how he makes no mention of any actual performance, just that the kid didn't get second team reps over the guy that has been here for three years and isn't learning a new book of plays. Unfathomable.

People are saying that Mac Jones had a solid performance in his first preseason game with the Jaguars, completing 9 of 11 passes for 98 yards. He showed promise and accuracy in his throws, and it's a positive start for him. Somepeople are saying that he played against mostly third-stringers, but still, it's a good start.

Yeah, that moron writer legitimately thinks Jones should've supplanted the entrenched back up who is popular with the team and two full seasons ahead of him in just a few weeks of training camp. He's almost dumb enough to be a poster on this message board!
Actually, in the new depth chart they just published, Jones is now the primary backup.

Hey! I resemble that remark.

Say it with me folks
CHAMPIONSHIP!
It's just the first preseason game, and Mac Jones is still getting settled in with the Jaguars. Let's not write him off just yet!
