Many of us were calling for the offensive line to get an overhaul. They doubled down and that seems to be the reason why the offense SUCKS!  Yo don't win scoring 13 and 17 points in an NFL game in this day and error.  We can blame it on the play calling but it's more than that.
The QB still misses too many easy ones, the offense line still gets crushed at times, the receivers still drop easy ones, the team continues to shoot itself in the foot on 3rd down, the team still struggles in the red zone, the list goes on and on.  The team has lost 6 out of it's last 7 games. It's just down right pathetic how the team started this game and its a pattern. Came out flat. The players are not executing so there is plenty of blame to go around.

The coaching staff could have it's own thread. Look at the blown time outs by not getting the team settled to run the play in time in the first half. (3 times) The lackluster game plans, the bad play calling. There was a stat that flashed during the game that stated the Jaguars Have NEVER Made the Playoffs when starting 0-2.  I do not see this team breaking that trend.  Just a terrible performance and a terrible way to start the season. It's the same old Jaguars that we all came to know. Pederson better find something to change here because losing eventually takes it toll on the fans and the owners.
Who’s to blame everyone, team looks worse than the gene smiff years
Offensive play-calling and the OL.

It's down right pathetic after 2 games. Had Miami's number after the 1st half and decided "Hey! Let's let them have it." Today's game: Offense forgets how to move the ball for almost 3 full quarters and decides "Hey! Let's actually score some points and make the game look closer than it actually appeared".
All of them? Coaches, QB, offensive line most importantly come to top of mind. We spend millions on a QB to elevate the team beyond a trash line and he can't. I'd rather spend that $55 on the offensive line at this point and play Mac Jones. Trenches win games. An elite offensive line will win games with anyone at QB.
Not many want to admit it but the Jags have lackluster talent across the board. Some good pieces but not a lot. Unfortunately, that is no quick fix. Below average roster combined with inept play calling that is not tailor made for the QB is not a good recipe for success in the NFL

That´s why we suck. The first 2 years was just a fluke
John Oesher and Wolfie
The fact we had a chance to win this game at the end is an enigma I don't think anyone will ever fully comprehend. We were whipped in the trenches again. Untimely sacks, uninspiring football until we had momentum in the fourth quarter out of nowhere. How about go into the game with that kind of urgency and intensity? Spero Dedes is coming for more filler Jaguars games.. it's just more of the same old junk.
It's the "execution". We just got to execute better.

Laughing

Did he really use that same excuse on the presser again?

They execute. I believe they are currently very adept at being pushed around.
Last years slump crossed over into this season.

I’m starting to worry that since a few of them got paid in the off-season, their heads are not focused on the current task at hand
It's kinda a bummer. But I think I'm beginning to think about the 2025 draft and getting a new coaching staff. Not to say anything about our GM.

I don't think so. I tried to tell you all here that 9-8 wasn't realy a winning record.  the last 2 years would've been 8-8 if it was still 16 games. doug isn't a winning HC. he only won SB with eagles cause of the  superstar studed defense he had there plus  a o-line to protect the qb. the defense was basicly unstopple. they even beat tom brad.     the Jags will always be LOSERVILLE!!!!!!!!
Everyone is at fault... except Mr Generational Talent of course
Everyone shares in the blame from the front office on down. If I had to place them in order, however,it would go like this:

1. Baalke and his staff: When you have a quarterback with the abilities of Lawrence, you priortize giving him the best possible offensive line possible. Adding Mitch Morse was helpful, but nearly not enough. They could have signed Kevin Dotson, Robert Hunt or Damien Lewis in free agency and drafted Graham Barton in round 1 and Zack Frazier in round 2. BTJ looks great, but Lawrence has no time to find him. Maason Smith wasn't even active today and Frazier is already starting for the Steelers. Unless things change, it wouldn't be surprising to see Lawrence accumulate injuries again this season.

2. Coaching: Doug Pederson has been extremely disappointing despite the 2022 playoff run. The play-calling has been poor and his pattern of defending Press Taylor is growing old. Ryan Neilson seems to be an upgrade, however.

3. Poor player execution: Lawrence,Kirk, Harrison, Robinson have all been disappointing so far and lead the group of underachievers.

While it's too early to give up on this season, the Jaguars must get at least a split of the next 2 road games or their playoff hopes will be gone.

Kind of reminds me of the classic line by Bucaneer's Head Coach John McKay.  When asked what he thought about his team's execution, he replied: "I'd be in favor of it!"  Tongue

LOL, I keep thinking the same thing.  Fire them to the moon!

The thing that is so frustrating is that in 2022 our offense looked like a real offense.  We looked like we were going to become the next Chiefs.  Kirk, Engram, Jones.  We were monsters.

And guess who were on the O-Line? Fortner at Center.  Scherff and Bartch at guard.  And Cam at Tackle.

You honestly think that our O-Line is that decimated?  The only loss we had was Taylor.  And that dude sucks with the Chiefs.

People say it's the O-Line that's the problem.  Naw.  I just can't believe that.  We basically have similar O-Line players as the rest of the league.  But you can't just run the same boring things over and over again and not expect that your opponent isn't going to figure you out.  This isn't the 90s.

You can't just impose your will on a team.  You have to scheme and put your opponent on their heels.  We don't do that.  We just keep running our helmets straight into a brick wall.  And then we blame our dudes for that.  I just don't agree.
I'm having my doubts about Doug. Perhaps he peaked with the Eagles.

The OLine can be bad and the playcalling can be stale. Both can be true.

Pederson reminds me of Buck Showalter. He comes in to a disaster franchise, turns it around to make it respectable and then another coach comes in to take them over the hump.

Pederson served his purpose. He was the right coach to have after Urban Meyer. I’m not sure he’s the right coach to take this team to a SB.
