The best team ever assembled
Press Taylor couldn’t do nothing with the 2007 Patriots.
“Make no mistake: this is the best team assembled by the Jacksonville Jaguars ever,” said Khan,
It didn't seem like a bad collection of talent to 95% of fans and analysts back in August.

When asked abut expectations in the preseason, most fans on this board and twitter all predicted 9 to 11 wins.

AFCS predictions by many national pundits called for Houston and JAX to be batting for a title in the division.

Khan's analysis at that time was only slightly loftier than the general consensus and most importantly:

He followed those remarks by informing the team and its coaches that he expected wins and he expected them now.
He's not getting them and I wager heads will roll because of it. Maybe some dismissals and interim promotions after the bye, or maybe he waits until January, but this start won't be excused.

I don't have a problem with Khan's proclamation and attached mandate for winning. I think it's a good sign he won't stand idly by and excuse this train wreck.

But the question remains on whether Khan will half [BLEEP] the job again. If he lets the coaching staff go and keeps Baalke onboard, the cycle repeats itself. Hell, at this point, I would be keenly interested in seeing how the coaching staff reacts, especially Doug, if Baalke were shown the door tonight. I bet it would be positive.

I suppose that management and coaches were all on the same page for such a statement to be rendered
When your coaching staff is inept on how to get the best out of their players on specific downs, distance, timing on the field, game situations... It's pretty hard for the talent to shine through.

Why would you assume that?

I wouldn't.

I think it was simply Khan's way of saying "I just spent a [BLEEP] ton of money doing what FO/HC told me to do in order to improve this roster, so get out there and win some [BLEEP] games!"

Maybe.

I haven't actually seen anything that tells me the staff and/or players have any sort of rift with Baalke.
Just fans talking about it. They don't know either.

I know 90% of fans hate him. Players and coaches are a completely different story.
so much speculation
Our preseason team looked so amazing, and it transpired into this....
10 straight losses is, a pretty mind-blowing stat. No matter what this team does, something goes wrong. 4 straight games without a turnover is almost impossible. Doesn't even seem like the d has been close to a turnover either. The pass rush isn't getting there, the coverage is horrible, zero ball hawks on this team. I said this about Darby, he hasn't had an interception since 2019 lol. Why get rid of Williams for that? A really weird defense with zero playmakers, only one is Foye and he's out, although Ventrell looked damn good today maybe he can cause a fumble. JHA and Walker are invisible. Offense just seems bad play after bad play, even when things go right. Trevor throws an overthrow, Trevor makes a good throw but it's dropped, Tank gets a 58 yard run but offense cant punch it in from the 1, every single damn 3rd and short can't convert ever, just zero pick me up plays.

Bottom line is 10 straight losses is flat out embarrassing. It's been rough following last season's collapse to now after week 4 hoping we win the Travis Hunter sweepstakes. Very rough.
Franchise is in a spiral

Why would you assume that?  Because they are all in it together or there would be a split decision and Khan would not have rendered such a bold statement with out 100% on board, so we will wait for the ones that went along  to open up

I wouldn't.

Khan: "And I think that uhh...I should retract my statement. Very disappointed. Ambatublow."

We are losing close games, but it's a bad trend. You would think a SB-winner like Doug would have a bit of understanding when it comes to crucial situations. We are seeing Gus-level boneheadedness out there.

It's extremely disconcerting. We had a good plan offensively, and it appeared to be working. We missed on some big plays. We hit a few of those, the course changes, confidence elevates. We want Trevor to stop playing hero ball? Stop forcing him to carry the offense in late game situations. Don't overthink things. Yes, defenses will be keying on the run in the 4-minute drill. Get 3-4 yards per run, and you're doing your job. If I were a player on this squad, I certainly know I'd be questioning the merit of the coaches after the recent string of losses. We are not playing assertively.

That's exactly what it is and that's exactly the problem. It had to be said, because it's not the unspoken standard proven by example irrespective of money spent. Talkers make me thirsty.

False. It's 93%.
If Khan keeps Baalke next year I'm so done with this team.

I will never ever spend another dime on this team ever again.

Big talk from the guy who has been here for two weeks.
