0-4 F across the board

Tough crowd. I can respect that though!

We'll be 1 - 4, then 2 - 4, then 3 - 4 soon. We're getting there. This team is that lazy [BLEEP] kid with all the talent in the world that likes to wait until the 2nd semester to start getting it's act together before Dad puts his boot to their [BLEEP] and Mom cuts off their allowance.

It'll be a'ight!

Doing my best Bullseye impression here. With a month of football games behind us and at 0 - 4. Trying to break down overall units and some specific players in general. I'll TRY to keep it short and sweet.

Offensive play is garbage. Woefully inconsistent. Starting with Lawrence. He's failing this team at the moment. D+ is me being fair because he's had 1 turnover in 4 games, however, the inaccuracies, the overall flow and feel of these games with him, I just don't see it looking good long term and there's buyer's remorse for me already after that contract deal. Yesterday was the spillover for me after three weeks of the offense doing nothing. He had the chance yesterday to get it done and he didn't do it.

Etienne is below average. I am digging the [BLEEP] out of him for the momentum killing fumble in Miami. It set the tone for the whole month of September. The WR core can be better. BTJ is a lone bright spot. The rest of the group is underwhelming or inconsistent. Offensive line play has been up and down but average overall in my opinion. Average enough for this team to be at least 2 - 2 instead of 0 - 4 in my opinion.

Good stuff out of Bigsby and Strange in year two. Enough said. Much better overall production and play. Night and day from rookie season. With that said? The defensive line is not flashing enough nor doing enough. They get a D+ along with Lawrence. Your QB, your pair of EDGE rushers, etc. They're supposed to make the momentum shifting plays. Just not seeing it enough.

Secondary is beat up. Holding it's own to some extent. The linebacker's are up and down as a room overall, again, also banged up. Coaching across the board gets a solid C-. I find them all below average at this point, slightly. I think if we're looking at the first four games? Better coaching in the opener could have maybe changed the outcome, and better against Cleveland and even yesterday could have changed the outcome.

However, the skill position group along with Lawrence have basically let the play callers down so far in four weeks. That's really how I view things. Etienne's fumble, Engram and Kirk's drops, the illegal shift with Johnson, and Lawrence missing two TD passes yesterday? That's 28 points at the minimum right there that they've cost this coaching staff and the drops in the opener and other contests could have given the coaches more opportunities to look better.

Let's see what October brings I guess.

Lawrence a D- (considering what he is getting paid)
ETN C-
Thomas Jr A- (the Qb is failing him)
Kirk C (not getting those hard passes those years
Walker F (He is so ineffective as a pass rusher and the #1 overall pick)
Hines Allen D- (He got paid and his production has fallen off the roof)
Bigsby B+ (most improved player)
The offensive line minus the center D
September can be weird for some teams. That’s what I’m pinning my hopes on at least. Mid season form is a thing and teams begin to separate come November. It’s a shame we couldn’t at least get that game yesterday. It might very well wind up being the death knell on the season, but we still don’t know for certain that that is the case. Do not give up or turn your back on your team. It’s not over yet. I remember saying such to people walking out past my aisle seat in the middle of the 2nd quarter against the chargers in the playoff game.

Be nice to the kicker.. Might be the only source of points this team could see.
No grade for Logan Cooke? Blasphemous!!

Punter: A+

He cost us the skidmarks game, he should'a already been fired.

I mean, who hasn't helped cost this team a game or two? At they can win with a field goal..

Seriously the Avg can't be a C- when you 0-4. It needs to be an F or just barely above that cause we were competitive in a couple games.

Shout out Bullseye. I think you’re right on the money. I gotta give Bigsby A-, if he scores on that long run against Houston, he would have an A+

Cam Little B+
For those bagging on JHA and the pass rush, I get it, but JHA only played 33 snaps before the concussion and got 6 pressures.
That's a high rate.
Walker had 7 pressures and over 40 snaps. Also good.

Stroud saw pressure on 28% of his drop backs. He just did a great job of evading it outside of the two sacks.

Stroud is sneaky good.  He's going to win a championship or two if they can get a better o line and d line to support him.  Might not be in Houston though.

We got good pressure on Stroud.  We made him look average in the 2nd half.  We just didn't get him sacked on certain situations, and that hurt.  But even with the lack of sacks, we rattled Stroud in the 2nd half on D.  Neilsen did a good job adjusting.  The D should be proud of their performance.

The production of JHA and Walker is lacking.  There's no doubt of that.  But they did good enough against Stroud in the 2nd half to keep us in the game.  Even when JHA was pulled for his concussion, the D still held strong for the most part.

With that said.  Both players should be allowed a C grade.

They are doing just enough.  They aren't doing great.  But, they are doing enough.

The question, as it has been since last year, is why can't they get to the next level of performance?  Why aren't we progressing?  We're just stagnant.  Neilsen did a great job coaching this team against Tua and the high flying Dolphins offense.  But the moment that fumble happened, things changed all over the team.

I still have faith in our players.  JHA and Walker.  That press conference by Doug after the Sunday loss isn't going to inspire a change.  It's time for the players to say [BLEEP] you to Doug and do it themselves.

I am good with the grades. I believe in this first quarter of the season they failed as a team. Actually it is in my opinion not much different than last year's first 4 games. The only difference last year is we got lucky on two of them. Last year watching this team the first 4 games was like watching a Keystone Cops episode. They went to London and pulled it together.

You guys have summarized most of the issues so no need to repeat that. My concerns

First, Trevor got paid and that may have had an effect. He feels he needs to be perfect, everything has to be perfect. Second after last year it took him a good 3 months just to be normal again. Our line began the year terribly probably giving him nightmares. No QB (even Brady) can play well like that he needs to be able to trust the line. The good thing is last week the line played their best game. Trust has to be earned and I am hoping the improvement continues and TL can learn to trust them. This lack of trust is making him play stiff, not loose like he normally does. He needs to just cut loose and get back to being himself. .

Now this slow start thing the first 4 games is on the coaches. They are working at a handicap having more new faces than most teams, but that is just an excuse.
This needs to change.
