I agree with you for once. We may not be talking about the same misinformation - probably not knowing us - but it is a huge problem right now with regards to what is and isn't happening in WNC and it's simultaneously pissing me off and making me feel sick to my stomach.
I am so sick and tired of every damn thing being made political. Every. Damn. Thing.
People's lives and livelihoods are not a political issue but people on both sides WHO AREN'T EVEN THERE are hell bent to make it so to further their agenda. Who cares who votes for whom? Who bloody cares?! The people there don't. They care about helping each other.
I'm so sick of this BS.
Is the $750 payment to victims authentic?
THEY CAN CONTROL THE WEATHER!

Are you suggesting they aren't trying to control the weather? Cloud seeding is real. It's been studied for decades, to mixed results. The UAE claims it increases their rainfall by as much as 35%. The US has even tried to use it to decrease the intensity of hurricanes in the past (to no avail).
I don't think governments using this for nefarious means. However, this kind of meme is a logical progression that follows when people don't believe the government cares and spend ridiculous amounts of money trying to play God. MOST of these memes would go away with better transparency and better representation. Most importantly, if governments could unlock this technology, you really think they would never use this for a political or military means?
Mockery is its own type of ignorance.
Interesting note: The US and the UAE partnered to test a new type of cloud seeding using nanomaterials. Coincidentally, the UAE experience record flooding in 2024. The experts say it's just due to climate change and not the new technology.

So you really think the government created this hurricane? Because that's what was being suggested.

Look at what I'm saying.
Got it. So we agree!
It's absurd to think the government created this hurricane.
Glad we cleared that up.

If any of you happen by there thank them for coordinating the effort to support the folks who have lost so much.
I dropped some water and toiletries off there earlier this week, the entire lot was loaded with supplies and they were begging people to come over and help them get it all loaded. It was impressive to watch the response.

NEW: Dolly Parton announces she is personally donating $1 million to Hurricane Helene victims, calls on people to step up and help out.
"Remember when we had the fires, everybody pitched in, tried to do everything that they could."
"I really think that this is a time for me to step up again for all of us to step up and do what we can. I wanted to announce that from myself personally..."
"Just from my own bank account. I'm donating a million dollars today, but there's a lot to be done and we're trying to find other ways to even raise more funds."
"But also with my Dollywood companies... we've added another million dollars to that 1 million... like I said, we're trying to find other new ways to make money. 'cause it's going to take a lot of money, as you know."

There is a parallel to that time scientist were manipulating viruses and one “got out” sending the entire planet into chaos for a couple of years.

Buddy.
I didn't start this thread.
I've already said it's preposterous to make the hurricane or hurricane response into some political partisan thing based on the voting habits of people affected.
If Biden or Harris went out there and tossed rolls of paper towels at them, would you feel better?

But they did.
If not for Elon applying pressure on X, nothing would be getting done from the govt. He basically forced bootyjuice to open the air space.
Just think had Elon not bought X.
