Dumb decision to throw a jump ball to your 3rd string RB....
He did get contacted and bodied off the jump though. But it's still a dumb decision to throw that one.
Out of all the stupid calls this year, that is probably the most fireable.
In what world, with the game on the line, with a chance to win, does it make sense to have your 3rd string running back out there trying to jump ball a touchdown in the back of the endzone against a cornerback?

Guy can’t string together a few decent games, but he’ll consistently have untimely turnovers
Again with the week to week proclamations.
He’s been playing good after his slow start. We don’t even attempt a comeback with jones in. He made a terrible decision on that throw whether it was PI or not.
It was a bad pass and the O struggled today. If you factor in the bodged Oline and back up WR's then it's a bit understandable. Sadly it's an L and Trevor threw a pick so instead of being a bad play it's now further proof he's a bust. It's a sad cycle that will endlessly repeat sadly. I expect the usual people to suddenly appear any moment.
(11-03-2024, 08:26 PM)mikesez Wrote: [ -> ]Why was a throw to the end zone even an option with that much time on the clock?!
And why did Trevor take it?!
And why is the 3rd string running back the one that gets the call?
And where was BTJ all game?!
This [BLEEP] team...
Yup.
It's just...just...

I would like to call it PI but I don't think so. It was more incidental contact and Johnson just spun around incorrectly and didn't allow himself to make a play or to even play defender. Dean is allowed to play the ball which he did. Semi-bad throw, great play by defender as he was outstretched and no guarantee he catches that, poor choice of where to throw it whether that be on Trevor or if the play was designed to go there against 1 on 1 coverage. Would have preferred a run play there. Needed to burn clock or burn their timeouts. Exciting comeback. I really thought with all the points the eagles were leaving out there we were going to make them pay.
HAVE to do better than that.

I know there are no moral victories but I'm proud of how that team fought today. First half was terrible. O were just awful and D held up but had some bad plays that hurt. The fumble on the punt really put us in a hole early. For all the negativity around the team and Doug, Baalke etc, you could understand this team folding and it being a blowout but they fought. The D played tough, The O fought through setback after setback and Philly kept making bad decisions that were letting us hang around. If we had got the W it would have been glorious but I have some pride in seeing them fight the way they did today.
Bad play design. That's a route you run with BTJ, Engram or Strange. Still. Dumb throw. You don't throw a back shoulder fade inside on a piss missile that far away from the endzone.
There was no reason to rush there. Plenty of time to work the clock, get the right plays in place and read the defense on that last drive.

Loser mentality. But I get it. I guess I am not the only one with PTSD around here.

Yeah I guess it makes more sense to blame the team’s woes on a last minute interception.
Keep politics out of this forum.
Defence still leaked 28ptw
Who called a pass play to a backup RB in the end zone? That guy should be on his own flight home and unemployed.
Let's be honest - this game was a bit of good luck with the Travon Walker fumble return for a TD, otherwise this was a blowout. Eagles outgained the Jaguars by a large margin and if it weren't for the Eagles HC making just as many boneheaded decisions as Doug Pedersen the margin would have been significantly more.
We're going to see a 50 burger put up in this next stretch against the Lions/Packers/Vikings.

I mean, Trammel's fumble doesn't contribute to that in your mind? This is not a game to bash the defense.

Ice cream with sprinkles for everyone!
I mean they could be packing it in and getting ready for the offseason. What the [BLEEP] is wrong with some of you?

Yeah. I mean, that's pretty much how most games are won.
It's not how you start, it's how you finish. Just like last week though. If we're going to play this "glass is half full" game.
Twenty [BLEEP] eight yards of total offense in one half of football. Pathetic..

The glazing of the Eagles by the commentators was HIGHlY annoying

We've got to that point where people are happy we lost so they can blame x, y, z.
Anyways
Rinse and repeat, I calm down in a few hours, go about the rest of the week and get hopes up on Sunday in time for game nezt day
