I know a bajillion of those. None of them are qualified to be SECDEF and neither is he.
Edit:
But in your defense, if a reality tv star is qualified to be President then a Fox News presenter is qualified to be Defense Secretary. And the lady from the shopping channel is qualified to be Secretary of the Treasury.
MAGA party is getting weird. Whos next, Lara Trump?

I trust Hegseth over the face mask wearing clown Austin any day of the week.

Okay, but, even leaving that statement at face value (and I don't think Austin is a good SecDef, nor do I think he was chosen to be), that's an irrelevant measurement.
Trump isn't picking between Hegseth and Austin, he's picking between Hegseth and the literally thousands of better-qualified Americans out there.

Yeah it's odd the guy speaks about meritocracy but his path to leadership was not climbing the org chart but rather getting sponsored by the Koch brothers to write books and appear on Fox News. I'd put him in the same category I put Tillerson in the first time around. A pick totally out of left field, but smart guy, probably it's fine. There is a LONG history of guys with little military experience becoming secretary of war/defense. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Those would certainly be some great pressers.

100%. The best CEO's aren't aways people who worked their way up in the organization. As you said, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Yet another great pick based on qualifications rather than DEI.
Hopefully he can get rid of the woke/DEI nonsense that has infiltrated our military.

....eh.... no, Tillerson knew how to run a large international organization. This guy does not.

What qualifications does he have? He made Major, but has no other relevant experience for the position. He has no qualifications for the position. He's just a Trump [BLEEP] sucker, and all Trump wants is his [BLEEP] sucked 24/7.
Putting Hesgeth in charge of the defense department is like hiring a manager of a McDonalds, who hasn’t worked there in 10 years, to CEO.

Being an officer in charge of other troops
in battle is his qualification.
Being a veteran that actually served in combat (unlike your girl's choice for VP) is a qualification.
Being an officer gives him a leadership position.
What other relevant experience is needed?
You're just butt hurt because he happened to have a gig at FOX News as a reporter/anchor.
What exact qualification(s) does the current DEI hire in the position have?

Being a Major is not enough. Lloyd Austin is an actual general who actually commanded in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq as a general. He served in both Vice Chief of Staff and commander of CENTCOM.
That's a [BLEEP] ton better resume than your soldier boy wanna be.
Quote:Being an officer in charge of other troops in battle is his qualification
Which doesn't equate to being a good SECDEF.

His highest level of command was a company, a formation that has around 100 troops. The DoD manages nearly 3 million personnel

A general with decades of experience.
Looks like this dude is 44 years old and from Minnesota. Wonder if he played for Coach Walz.
Why don't you just post all these in the Election meltdown thread

Kinda funny if every thread this piece of trash has posted, ended up there.. That's all it's been, nothing but one big tarded meltdown..
Belongs there.
