Develop youth

That's my only goal at this point

(11-20-2024, 01:49 PM)mikesez Wrote: [ -> ]This is a lost year for the whole defense. Nielsen has them out of position and in wrong matchups nearly full time.  Hopefully all the guys coming back next year forget most of the experience.  It would be nice to see what Maason Smith can do but I'm sure he will be mis-used if he ever makes it on the field.

The O is where the only interesting things are happening.  Will Tank recover from his injury and repeat his early season performance? Will BTJ continue to look like a pro bowler? Will Walker Little settle in as the left tackle of the future? Will Anton improve?  Those are things that will translate to next year.  Armstead playing DE while Ronald Darby plays corner and Antonio Johnson plays safety, that's nothing to really build on.  Even looking at Foye and Miller, not much to see when the D line in front of them is playing like wounded puppies.

The Walker Little situation is pretty odd. If the Jaguars have drafted their LT of the future, they certainly didn't treat Little that way.  Not starting him at LT regularly until his contract year doesn't make any reasonable sense.

It makes plenty of sense.

He was hurt when he was drafted and he was drafted under a different coaching staff with different desired traits in their OL.

Then the Pederson regime not only saw him as "not their guy," they mistakenly overvalued Cam Robinson until it was too late.

It was a gamble pick by Baalke from the get, then we changed coaches. Pretty simple sense there to me even if it still casts a bad light on the Jags decision makers. He's a solid left tackle. Just not someone teams will likely look at as a bookend building block for their line. Which is another reason he lingered in the wings.

At this point - whether the Jags attempt to keep him depends on evaluation of he and Harrison by hopefully a new set of eyes in the Spring.
The only goal is the same it's been for over a decade in the Khan era: JUST TANK BABY
Have the ignorant fans appreciate Khan. He’s been an awesome owner. Spends on everything necessary. Keep grinding.

I think "awesome" is pretty strong.  He's a non-meddling owner, which is a good thing.  In terms of spending, the CBA guarantees that teams spend close to %90 so I suppose he gets credit for spending %100ish.  On the down side you can look at his W/L record, and his personnel decisions (contributing to W/L).

I think he falls somewhere in the 'decent owner' if we're rating them.
Make those throwback uniforms primary and we will be on our way to the SB in a few years

Those were my favorite this season !   To be allowed to wear them they need to play to a high standard.

I believe it's pronounced "Bigsby".  But I think he's injured...

When people talk about spending for Khan, it is not the player salary with respect to the salary cap. Like you said that is tightly managed by the CBA. It is everything else.

It is how he is okay with high guaranteed numbers because he has the cash to put into escrow for those contracts unlike say the Brown family in Cinci. It is that he is willing to revamp all the player facilities. If given a good reason, he would likely pay more for additional coaches/scouts or with higher salaries as there is no cap on that. As well as all the other staff and experts you need in the building for trainers, strength, etc.

There really hasn't been any report ever about Khan being tight with money spent on the team building or support apparatus.

Yes, he has been a bit tighter with respect to the stadium costs/reno's but that is more a generally NFL policy. Unless you are LA or NYC, the NFL owners are not going to greenlight a stadium project that forces the owner to pay the entire costs.
We have several division games. Hope we can show the division we're still relevant. No one is running away with it again this year. Houston took a sad L today.

Because it’s any given Sunday, which should wake everyone up that 52-6 should NEVER HAPPEN IN TODAYS GAME.. yet here we are accepting it.. per usual
I just want a win.

I hope Hines-Allen gets the Jaguars all-time sack record. I’d like to see Walker get back to back double digit sacks. It would be nice to see Thomas get to 1,000 yards as a rookie. Engram has a chance to move into 6th all time in receptions.

Cam Little is having an outstanding rookie season, so I hope that continues.

As a Jaguars fan, the goal is to win, no matter what. If the #1 overall pick is that important, there is always more than 1 way to skin a cat. We always play to win.
I really want to beat Houston next week. I know it's a meaningless game in the big picture for us but really want to get one over them.

The thing I want to see the next 6 games from us is some pride. The schedule is easier and are we that bad team we've been all season or are we going to show up? We could go 6-0 and it won't change my opinion on Baalke or Doug but there are certain players I want to see something from these last games.
Make sure maason is still permanently bench warming by last gamr

So he could be worse?

The hate on JHA is insane around here sometimes.

They see his every snap here but only the highlights of those who play elsewhere. It's like Facebook Depression.

No no no … guys who cares? It’s a new regime next year, let’s show pride next season. Let’s get a high draft pick and keep Tlaw healthy for next season.

We gotta play it smart, forget pride. Let’s get Travis Hunter or a premier DT/LT and call it a win this season.

This upcoming class lacks the star power. Not really a difference in pick 1 or pick 9 this year.

Id love to beat the Texans but it aint gonna happen.  I wish the young players will show out and beat the Texans.  If we get the right GM it wont matter where we pick.
