I have a friend who's parents are illegals. He was born in the U.S. went to school here, has a career as a firefighter. He also has a wife (native-born American citizen) and a toddler daughter. What was said was the parents here illegally can take their kids with them. No one is splitting a family up, the whole family leaves. Just because the kid may have US citizenship, doesn't mean they stay here. For adult kids, they are over 18 and can do whatever they want.

A lot of talk about this 14th amendment. How it makes children of illegals citizens. People entering illegally, overstaying visas etc. I thought I would first read the actual portion that applies.See below
Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
First the easy part. People entering illegally, visas or green cards are not naturalized so deportation is an acceptable cure.
The born portion is where it gets messy. It could be argued that the kids are minors. Their parents have responsibility for them, they are subject to the jurisdiction of their parents. A minor, cannot enter into contracts or take on other responsibilities until reaching the age of majority. This would mean they are not subject to the jurisdiction of the US. Therefore are deported with the parents.

A really stupid thought. This was settled over a century ago. Anyone born on US soil is a citizen. The only exception is children of diplomats because they have immunity and are not subject to US jurisdiction

Actually flsprtsgod is on the correct track and reality is escaping someone but not him. This needs to be addressed as no one previously would believe the situation we are currently in. The time to do it is now as more and more people awakened to see the exploitation in a clear light despite the deflections of people like you. And there is a 100% chance that Trump will try to deport illegal immigrants whose kids are citizens. And 100% chance that the courts will allow that in most cases.
Trump doesn't have to amend imthe Constitution to get what he wants.
