Musk: we will make government super efficient and cut spending by $2T

Trump: I am going to shutdown government unless you remove debt ceiling (because it'll clearly be an obstacle for my upcoming administration)

Any righties out here care to reconcile these 2 positions?
Lol, already blaming Trump when he's not even in office yet. DOOFY gone DELUSIONAL with his TDS.

Our current President doesn't have the mental capacity and hasn't for a few years now. My Father went through this before he passed and I see the same progression in Biden. It began in earnest right after the election. Being president is a huge strain on anyone. I have no ill will towards Biden, actually feel a bit sad. What makes me upset is the way the Democratic leadership and his handlers used him. It is actually elder abuse.

Schumer, Pelosi, his wife, son and a few others have some answering to do to the country for propping him up the way they did. Of course they will not be held accountable, that would be too much to expect.

As for the debt ceiling, Trump wanted it raised to cover the spending done under the BIDEN administration so he could begin his term the way Biden began his, at neutral. He did want it removed for a couple years, but that was just him bargaining.  Actually if we had an approved budget this would not be necessary at all. We have not had one since 2009 Obama's first year. Since then our deficit has ballooned from 9 trillion to what 36 trillion. I hope Trump can get us back to where we have one.

What's the over/under on how many months before Trump and Musk have a very public breakup?

I think Vegas has it at 5-1/2 months on this mornings line.

Just some correction sir:

Musk is the President, Donald is the vice.

Interesting how the MAGA cult continues to attack Biden for cognitive problems while ignoring Trump's ranting about Haitians eating dogs, windmills causing cancer and "the late, great Hanibal Lechter".  Laughing

Trump is a fine one to talk about Biden's spending when he rain the debt up 8 TRILLION $$$'s in his first [BLEEP] term. Hypocrisy runs deep inside of you huh, Jag?
I'm confused. Did Tdoss like the 1500 page porky bill?

I guess we can say inaccuracy runs rampant in you?
Actually Trump's first term was an increase of $7,372 billion.  Your good buddy Biden so far has run the tab up $9,223. Biden's number is going to rise as he is on the hook for the bills passed until the end of the year.

He should be thanking Elon and Trump for cutting out a lot of pork from the current CR, HB10445.  The first 100 pages had about 135.5 billion of spending some on the oddest things. Since the document was 1500+ pages you could multiply by 15 to get the cost of the bill but 2+trillion seem a lot. That is not reasonable so somewhere between about 1 to 1.5 trillion is my guess. No wonder the Dems were upset. Elon was right. I hope they do this going forward.

There's not a lot to brag about either way. Accounting for the inflation we saw during Biden's term, the two numbers are almost identical. Sad!

Yep, nothing to brag about indeed. I admit Biden's boss made a critical error driving inflation up by attacking the energy industry during his term. That will be addressed soon. Hopefully, we can get the interest rate a bit lower so small business owners have a chance. Where it is now gives the big guys an advantage based on their cost of capital.

LOL you are quite the left handed wing nut aren't you. Do not worry your buddy Biden will easily clear a record 10 trillion deficit under his watch. Even with Trump and Elon slowing it. He should thank them. ...Wink
